A "plume" of water is a relatively short upward fountain of water. Two of the groups are simple, generic, lower-velocity water plumes of two different heights. The other two groups are spear-shaped, much more compact plumes of water that are typically created by higher velocity water fountains. The spear-shaped plumes are come in two different heights. Each of the four groups of plumes has six members, each with a unique shape so that when multiple plumes are in a fountain, there will be natural variation among them. * Six short "tip" plumes of foam and water that have generic shapes, * Six mid-height plumes of foam and water that have generic shapes, * Six short "spear-shaped" water plumes of foam and water, and * Six mid-height "spear-shaped" water plumes of foam and water Each water plume has separate water and foam pieces. Modern renderers, such as V-Ray, Corona and Maxwell Render typical require that one material be applied to one individual component of a model. REQUIREMENTS: Any application that can import OBJ files. Installation Instructions: It is typical to "IMPORT" the selected *.obj file into your application, using the application's "Import" command. Normally, executing the "Import" function brings up a search window that allows you to navigate to the desired *.obj file. Normally, you do not need to also import the *.mtl file that corresponds to the selected *.obj file. The *.mtl file is read automatically upon import. Normally, the purpose of the *.mtl file is to tell the 3D application which materials or textures are applied to the object, and where to locate those materials or textures. Usage and Tips: These water plumes can be placed into almost any water basin or fountain. They can be arranged in groups, scattered around the edges of basins, centered at the top of a multi-tiered fountain, or even placed in a natural pool. The plumes can be re-scaled to fit your fountain or basin. To aid in re-scaling, the pivot points for each foam and each water surface are centered in the object in the horizontal plane, but positioned at the bottom of the water jet object in the vertical plane. This pivot point location makes it easiest to position, and then re-scale the water plume to fit your fountain and scene. Please note that the foam component and some of the water component may be below this pivot point, because foam and water will fall downward, enter the water, and maintain some of their shape below the surface of the water. If you are positioning one of these water plumes to fit within a metal nozzle or some other piece of fountain hardware, you will want the pivot point of the plume to be at the base of the water component, in order to make positioning easy. Of course, the plumes can be duplicated for scene where you need many of them. When re-scaling the size of a water plume, or duplicating it, it helps to have "grouped" the water and the foam components, and then re-scale or duplicate the group, rather than the individual component. You can apply a standard water or glass material for your 3D application to any of the water surfaces. You should apply a glossy white material to any of the foam objects. Some 3D rendering applications, such as Maxwell Render or V-Ray have dedicated foam materials that you can apply to the foam objects in this package.
