============================================================================= *Product Name: VWD Cloth & Hair - Upgrade version *Version: V2.2.924.6464 *Copyright: Virtual World Dynamics - December 2019 *Vendor: Virtual World Dynamics (https://www.virtualworlddynamics.net) *Support: https://www.virtualworlddynamics.net/support. *Availability: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/vendor/VirtualWorldDynamics ============================================================================= Upgrade Version Preface: This is an upgrade version of the VWD Cloth & Hair Version V2.x Product (details below). To use this product, purchasers must own and have available the VWD Cloth & Hair Version 1.x product (main program file) that's available from Renderosity.com, specifically version V1.1.522.3630 which should be available in each customer's renderosity.com account content library. This update version requires that the user have a specific VWDClothAndHair.exe program file available on their system for use as a one-time verification key for proof of ownership. Availaibility of this will enable the upgrade utility to extract the full VWD Cloth & Hair V2.x release zipfile product package. The extracted zipfile package will contain the complete set of required installation instructions and resources. This document contains notes on using the included upgrade utility to extract the complete installation package. ============================================================================= Product Description: VWD's Cloth & Hair program is a Windows-based program that is designed to enable users to apply dynamic fabric and hair simulations to static 3D-Mesh items from 3D host-applications like Poser, DAZ Studio, and DAZ Carrara (with 3rd-Party Bridge Add-On). VWD's Cloth & Hair enables the creation of realistic dynamic flowing image and animation effects on on 3D-mesh/models for use in the production of still images, animated sequences, and/or other 3D-mesh manipulation uses (gaming and product creation, etc.). Rather than using traditional modeling programs to 'push' and 'pull' 3D mesh verticies and edges to manually simulate the appearence of real fabrics and hair, VWD Cloth and Hair allows a physics-based simulator to generate these vertex and edge alterations. VWD Cloth & Hair simulations can be applied to both simple and complex 3D-meshes, including props, so-called dynamic clothes, conforming clothes, and conforming hair. Basically any 3D mesh can be simulated as if it were a cloth or hair item for both realistic and/or abstract effects. This version supports native integration with the Poser 9+ / Pro-2012+ and DAZ Studio 4.10+ host applications. DAZ Carrara integration can be realized through the use of Renderosity.com vendor 'philemot's product "VWD Cloth & Hair Bridge for Carrara" available at: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/carrara-bridge-to-vwd-cloth-and-hair/115860/ (NOTE: we can't/don't support this Carrara Bridge product directly, but we like it and hope it can work for you.) Important note for DAZ Studio VWD V2.x beta testers : This version will conflict with any previous versions of the DAZ Studio VWD Cloth & Hair beta VWDExchange.dll plugins. Simply remove those dll files from your DAZ Studio (both 32 and 64 bit!) program's 'plugins' folders and install the new VWDExchange_x64.dll and/or VWDExchange_x32.dll versions of these plugins. Note the difference in the dll file's naming conventions. Again, this is only relevant if you were a user of the previous V2.x beta versions in DAZ STudio! Also: These new V2.x DS plugin DLL files should coexist with the DAZ Studio-Bridge (philemot/Renderosity) plugins used with the VWD 1.x product, although those plugins have been broken by the DAZ Studio 4.11+ updates, and VWD 2.x does not work on DAZ Studio versions below 4.10, meaning that this co-installation will only work with DAZ Studio V4.10. ============================================================================= System Requirements: Windows Based Computers Only - Windows 7, 8.x, and 10 'Better' hardware will always help, but here's a decent starting point: - Intel I5 @ 3Ghz or better (I7, Xeon, AMD, AMD-RyZen, better yet) - 2-4 Gigabytes of System memory available for VWD (VWD is a 32bit application, but works well with both 64-bit and 32-bit host-applications - Poser/DS/Carrara). - (Be sure to have approriate extra memory for your rendering application that will need to run along with VWD!) - Harddrive to save simulations and rendering results (500G+ for animated scene processing, etc.). SSD drives help w speed. - optional: NVIDIA GPU - more cores are better... (e.g. 1070+) Supported Application Hosts: Poser 9+ / Pro-2012+ DAZ Studio 4.10+ Also (not formally supported, but available and recommended) : DAZ Carrara 8.5 with the Carrara Bridge Product, found at: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/carrara-bridge-to-vwd-cloth-and-hair/115860/ ============================================================================= Required Files: POSER 9+ / Pro-2012+ or DAZ Studio 4.10+ or DAZ Carrara 8.5 (with the Carrara Bridge Product, found at): https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/carrara-bridge-to-vwd-cloth-and-hair/115860/ (not formally supported, but available and recommended) and Any 3D content - e.g. characters, clothes, props, and hair... that are available to your chosen host application. ============================================================================= Upgrade Version Extraction Instructions: The Upgrade product zipfile package contains a VWD upgrader utility program that you will run to generate the full installation package. This utility will extract the complete VWD Cloth & Hair zipfile package after finding an instance of your original VWD Version V1.1.522.3630 VWDClothAndHair.exe program file. You can then use the included instructions to complete a normal VWD Cloth & Hair Version 2.x installation. To extract your complete VWD Cloth & Hair Version 2.x installation zipfile product package, you must first make the original Version 1.x version of VWDClothAndHair.exe (V1.1.522.3630) available somewhere on your system. This file will only be required for a one-time verification. This file version should be available in the zipfile that's currently available in your Renderosity.com product-file library. Note: If you purchased your version of the original VWD Cloth & Hair V1.x product directly (not at Renderosity), please contact us directly via the email addresses available on our website at: https://www.virtualworlddynamics.net/support and we will verify your purchase and provide the necessary resources to activate this product. Please do not request a refund from Renderosity, as their store will be the only way to acquire the upgrade version. We will work with you to quickly resolve any Upgrade problems! To run the extraction utility: - extract the the upgrade product files from your new zipfile (if you are reading this file, you have probably alredy done this step...) - double-click the VWDClothAndHair_V2.2.924.6464_upgrade.exe file that's found in the 'Installation' directory of the extracted zipfile. - When prompted, click on the 'Extract VWDCLothAndHair' button that appears in the utility's dialog box. - Use the Windows browser to locate your proper Version 1.1.522.3630 of your VWDCLothAndHair.exe program file. Typical installations are located in the C:\VWD\ folder. - Select that file from the file-browser. - The extraction should complete and a new zipfile package called VWDClothAndHair V2.2.924.6464 Upgrade.zip (around 23 Megabytes in size) should be generated in that same directory (.../Installation/) - Unzip/Extract that product installation package and follow the installation instructions below. After successful extraction of the complete installation zipfile package, please review the installation instructions included below, and in that package. ============================================================================= Basic Installation Instructions: (NOTE: This process assumes successful extraction and availability of the full installation zipfile) Upon receipt/download of your VWD Cloth & Hair V2.x product installation zipfile, you will be manually installing the files on your local computer system (Note: This is a Windows-only application). To install the VWD Cloth & Hair package (Poser and DAZ Studio): Extract the product installation zipfile into a workspace of your choice. Copy the zipfile's ..\Installation\VWD folder to the root/top of one of your hard-drives, e.g. C:\VWD Poser: The VWD system is already ready to use. After starting Poser, you will use the 'poser scripts' menu to browse to the above location and find/run the 'VWD Buttons.py' script, which will add a new menu button to your scripts menu that exposes a new submenu of VWD commands. These will be used to operate the VWD Cloth & Hair product (see the Program Guide for details on using VWD's Cloth & Hair program and tools). DAZ Studio - 2 parts: 1) DAZ Studio Plugins - To install the DAZ Studio VWD Cloth & Hair plugin into the appropriate DAZ Studio Program directory plugin folder(s): You will copy the appropriate 32 or 64 bit plugin DLL files from your installation zipfile... for 64 bit, from: ...\Installation\VWD\DAZ_Studio_Files\Program_4.10+\plugins\VWDExchange_x64.dll or for 32 bit, from: ...\Installation\VWD\DAZ_Studio_Files\Program_4.10+\plugins\VWDExchange_x32.dll into the approriate DAZ Studio *program* "plugins" folder (this is NOT the same as your content folder! - a common mistake!). For the 64bit version of DAZ Studio, the default plugins directory is: C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins\ and, for the 32bit version of DAZ Studio: C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins\ Note that you can also use these files in your DAZ Studio 'Public Build' 'plugins' directories as well using the same procedure and install patterns. 2) DAZ Studio - Start-up scripts and readmes - Install the user-facing VWD startup scripts and readme files into your DAZ Studio Content Library, you will copy the contents of the included ...\Installation\VWD\DAZ_Studio_Files\My DAZ 3D Library\Scripts\ and ...\Installation\VWD\DAZ_Studio_Files\My DAZ 3D Library\ReadMe's\ directories into (one of) your DAZ Studio content libraries. The default DAZ Studio content library is typically: C:\Users\Public\My DAZ 3D Library\ Copy the above "Scripts" and "ReadMe's" directories into your preferred content library, and refresh your library or restart DAZ Studio. You then use DAZ Studio to run the 'Start VWD' script to start the program. Note: The first time you run this script, you will be prompted to locate your 'VWDClothAndHair.exe' program, which is located in the main program directory that you copied to your system as the first step of these instructions (e.g. C:\VWD\VWDClothAndHair.exe). You should only need to locate this file once. For additional installation details, please see the guide that's included in your installation package zipfile: VWDClothAndHair_InstallGuide_V2.x.pdf Program controls and some usage information are found in the included Program Guide: VWDClothAndHair_ProgramGuide_V2.x.pdf Usage information and advanced examples are found in the included Usage Guide: VWDClothAndHair_UsageGuide_V2.x.pdf ============================================================================= License: VISIT THE LINK BELOW AND READ THE RENDEROSITY END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (EULA)FOR THIS PRODUCT. http://www.renderosity.com/renderosity-licenses-cms-17254 Renderosity has two license options, and it is very important to make sure you read and understand the correct license before using our products.
