Created in Poser, it's compatible with DAZ Studio (see below for details). (Background note on how this mythical airship might operate: There are no horizontal control surface so pitch control might be accomplished by changing the relative speed of the propellers. If the upper propeller is turning faster than the lower, the airship would pitch down. The large vertical tall might provide roll stability. If the airship does roll slightly it might be leveled by pumping water between tanks on either side of the airframe.) FIGURES o Airship Victoria The poseable Airship figure has ERC controls at the Body level that: o Operate the pilot controls o Open the hatches and doors PROPS o Passenger Gondola furniture (preloaded) o Navigator station (preloaded) o Gas lamps (preloaded) o Propeller blur (smart props) o Billboard smoke (smart props) CAMERAS o Full camera set positioned for easy viewing and rendering of the Victorian Airship figure. Includes main, auxiliary, left, right, top, bottom, front and back cameras. o Close up and interior Dolly CAMs POSES o M4, V4 pilot o M4, V4 passengers o Alternate MAT poses LIGHT o Simple Daylight set o Gondola, control cabin, interior, and searchlight lights TEXTURES Image maps up to 4000x4000. All components are UV-mapped with texture templates included. ArtOfDreams metals merchant resource -------------------------------------- Notes on the Model The Victorian Airship figure is inspired by the artwork "Postal Dragon" by Vadim Voitekhovitch. The default texture matches that of my Victorian Spacecraft product. -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: Unzip files to your main Poser directory, being sure to check "Use Folder Names" and the files will unpack to their proper location. Refer to the file list below for file locations. Components are found in the "Michael_C/Victorian Airship" folder within each of the Poser sub-libraries (Figure, Pose, etc.). Note that although most of the Poser files may be moved to other locations, the geometries and textures MUST be in the listed locations. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips: The Victorian Airship figure uses ERC controls at the Body level. For easy access to the controls the figure's Body loads selected by default. PARAMETER DIALS - The parameter dial groups load collapsed for convenience. Open a group or subgroup to use its dials. Transform Resize - This dial changes the size of the entire figure. The Roll. Pitch and Yaw dials rotate the airship (the compass keeps it orientation until it reaches its limits). Other standard transform dials control position of the figure within the scene. Control Wheel – turns the rudder coordinated with the pilot's wheel Pitch Control – changes the position of the pitch control (there is no coordinated action – the control is assumed to change the relative speed of the upper and lower propellers) Telegraph Send – changes the position of the engine telegraph transmission lever Telegraph Response – changes the position of the engine telegraph reciver pointer Spin Propellers Hatches Open Gondola Door Open Control Cabin Door Open Deck HAtch – unlatch and open the hatch Open Companionway Tops – unlatch and open the companionway top Open Companionway Doors – unlatch and open the companionway end doors Miscel Rotate Pilot Seat Tilt Searchlight Rotate Searchlight POSES Hide-Show Hide/shoe the nameplates Hide/show the propellers (use with propeller blur props) MATs Postal Dragon alternate paint scheme Alternate nameplate Default (as-loaded) MATs People Pilot and passenger poses for M4 & V4 PROPS (Smart props) o Propeller Blur Set o Three billboard smoke props (dark, medium & light) (Unparented props) o Preloaded - the various props pre-loaded and parented to the airship in the airship figure o Special – An alternate seat The passenger seats are two-prop sets, s seat with a movable attached seatback. (Note: the preloaded and alternate seatbacks have a Tilt control to reverse the seatback) LIGHTS Simple Daylight set More Lights (These lights must be ADDed to the scene or they will replace all other lights) (Lights will load parented to the airframe) o Control Cabin Light o Gondola Lights o Interior Lights – light the dummy interior spaces visible through hatches or windows o Searchlight (loads parented to Searchlight) CAMERAS Full Set - All the standard cameras are positioned to show the complete figure in its default loaded position. Note that adjustments may be necessary depending on your document window setup. Close up Dolly CAMs provide views within the control cabin and gondola, and close-up views on the deck and around the cabins ------------------------------ -- DAZ Studio Compatibility -- Tested in DAZ Studio 4.21 to the extent that parameter controls and various figure poses work as intended. I've made no attempt to convert or optimize materials. The Victorian Airship figure loads, operates and renders in DAZ Studio. DAZ Studio uses different camera designations from Poser so the included camera presets don't all work.
