Array Instancer, Copyright PixelDust1 April 6, 2026 Vendor name: PixelDust1 Product description: A DAZ Studio script that distributes an instance of a selected object along a grid in the x, y and z dimensions. You can generate instances of a selected object in 1D, 2D and 3D. Please keep in mind that the objects created by the script are instances, they are copies of the selected object but they share its common geometry, material shader, etc. If you delete or modify the selected object, you will delete/modify all its instances. The script allows you to specify the number of objects along any of the x, y and z directions and you can add random perturbances to the generated instances’ location, orientation and scale. The best way to get a feel for the use of the script is to experiment. Happy rendering! System requirements: PC and DAZ Studio 4.22.0.16 and newer Needed files: No other files/products needed. Installation instructions: Unzip the downloaded product zip file(s) into your Documentation, Props, Runtime and Scripts directory/folder, as applicable. Usage tips/limitations: The script is located in the Scripts/PixelDust1/ArrayInstancer directory/folder. The workflow is as follows: • Select the object to instance, the object should already be in your scene • For each of the x, y and z axis you can: - Enter the distance along that axis between each consecutive instance - Enter the number of copies along that axis, (put 1 or even 0 to keep only one row along that axis) - Enter, the position jitter along that axis, leave it 0 if you want to keep the calculated position to be on the grid - Enter, in degrees, the rotation jitter along that axis, leave it 0 if you want to keep the original orientation of the object - Enter the scale jitter along that axis (0.0 = same size, 0.5 - 50% larger or smaller than original object) • Checks ‘uniform jitter scaling (based on X axis)’ to vary the scale of instances but keep their original proportions • Click Accept (available only if an object is selected) Notes: • Be careful not to overload your computer, a few hundred up to a thousand instances are manageable. • Some objects in DAZ Studio were made by their creators such that they do not play nice. If you encounter an object that when using the script generates odd paths, please zero out the object’s start and end points using the Joint Editor’s Tool setting and try using the script again.
