Camera Optimizer PRO Copyright 2026 KoKoS_TeBe_V_NoS Vendor: KoKoS_TeBe_V_NoS Version: 0.2.44 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION ------------------- Camera Optimizer PRO is a DAZ Studio utility for setting up cameras, focus, viewport lighting helpers, cutaway planes and composition guides. Tired of spending hours setting the focus? Does the camera confidently choose the wall instead of the character you need? No problem - Camera Optimizer PRO handles it in just a few clicks. It helps set focus and lighting, optimize the camera setup and build the composition according to the golden ratio. A couple of simple actions - and the camera starts working according to the plan instead of following its own mood. The script works with cameras already present in the current scene. It lets the user switch between scene cameras, adjust focus and depth of field, preview the scene in Iray, add a viewport Light Map, create cutaway controls and display composition frames for camera work. Composition frames are editor guides. They are displayed in the DAZ Studio viewport and are hidden from renders. They are intended to help with framing, safe areas and composition while the final render remains unchanged. The script supports: - Camera selection and navigation between cameras in the current scene. - Iray Preview viewport mode. - Cutaway planes around the active camera. - Focal distance selection by clicking an object in the active camera view. - F/Stop control with two available focus formulas. - Light Map creation and adjustment for the active camera. - Light Zoom and Luminance controls. - FramePanel creation and attachment to the active camera. - Six composition frame presets with separate image and opacity maps. - Scale Frame control with a range from -50 to 50 and a step of 5. - Frame Distance control for moving the FramePanel along its local camera depth. - Detection of the currently loaded composition frame from the FramePanel material. - Detection of the current FramePanel scale when the script is opened again. - Scene-based persistence of FramePanel, Light Map and cutaway objects. - JSON storage of the last selected camera for each scene. - Single-instance protection that prevents duplicate Camera Optimizer PRO windows. - No additional products required. BUTTONS AND CONTROLS -------------------- The camera name is shown in green. Use the left and right arrow buttons to switch between cameras found in the current scene. Iray Preview: OFF / ON Switches the active viewport draw style to NVIDIA Iray Preview and restores the previous working viewport style when disabled. This is a viewport control and does not change the final render engine settings. Cutaway: OFF / ON Creates or removes the cutaway helper group for the active camera. The gear button opens Cutaway Settings. Cutaway Settings contains four plane controls: - Top - Left - Right - Bottom Each plane can be enabled or disabled independently. The Zoom control changes the cutaway distance around the camera. The helper planes are stored in the scene and can be retained by saving the scene. Set Focus Starts focus picking in the active camera view. Click a suitable object in the scene to set the camera focal distance to that object. The focus controls become available while focus picking is active. F/Stop Changes the camera F/Stop value and enables depth of field on the active camera. Formula 1: 500000 / D^2 Formula 2: 300 * (80 / D)^2.88 The selected formula is used when the focal distance changes. Light: OFF / ON Creates or removes the Light Map helper attached to the active camera. Light Zoom and Luminance are enabled only while Light is ON. Light Zoom Changes the Light Map scale. The available range is 0 to 50. Luminance Changes the Light Map emission level. The user-facing slider range is 1 to 9. Framing: OFF / ON Creates or removes the FramePanel helper attached to the active camera. When Framing is ON, the script reads the current FramePanel material and highlights the matching composition preset. Scale Frame Changes the FramePanel scale. The available range is -50 to 50 with a step of 5. The current scale is read from the FramePanel when the script opens or when the active camera changes. Frame Distance Moves the FramePanel along its local camera depth so the guide can be positioned closer to or farther from the scene objects. The current local depth is read from the FramePanel when the script opens or when the active camera changes. Composition preset buttons The six preset buttons are: - FrameWhite - GoldenRatio - GoldenSpiral - LeadingLines - RuleOfThirds - Symmetry When Framing is OFF, the preset buttons are disabled and have gray borders. When Framing is ON, available presets have blue borders. The currently loaded preset has a green border. Clicking a preset applies its matching base-color image and matching opacity image to the FramePanel material. The FramePanel is visible in the viewport and is hidden from the final render. BASIC USE --------- 1. Open a DAZ Studio scene containing one or more cameras. 2. Open Camera Optimizer PRO. 3. Select the required camera with the camera arrow buttons. 4. Use Set Focus and click an object in the active camera view when focus distance must be adjusted automatically. 5. Select an F/Stop formula and adjust the F/Stop slider when depth of field is required. 6. Enable Iray Preview when an Iray viewport preview is needed. 7. Enable Light when a temporary Light Map helper is useful. Adjust Light Zoom and Luminance while Light is ON. 8. Enable Framing to create or use the FramePanel for the active camera. 9. Click one of the six composition preset buttons. FrameWhite is used automatically when an existing FramePanel has no recognized preset image. 10. Adjust Scale Frame in steps of 5 when the composition guide must be smaller or larger. 11. Adjust Frame Distance when the guide must be moved closer to or farther from the scene objects. 11. Use Cutaway and its gear button when camera clipping planes are required. 12. Save the DAZ Studio scene to retain the created helper objects and their current settings. CAMERA AND SCENE STATE ---------------------- The script identifies the selected camera by its DAZ Studio node name. When the script is opened, it restores the last selected camera for the current scene from CameraOptimizerPRO.json when that camera still exists. FramePanel state is read from the scene itself. The script checks the FramePanel material image to identify the selected composition preset and reads the FramePanel Scale property to identify Scale Frame. It also reads the FramePanel local depth to identify Frame Distance. Light Map and cutaway state are also read from scene objects. CameraOptimizerPRO.json stores the last camera selection for each scene. It is not the source of truth for the selected composition frame, Scale Frame or Frame Distance. Save the DAZ Studio scene after changing these settings if they must be available after reopening the scene. The script keeps FramePanel and Light Map helpers associated with their camera. When the active camera changes, the script reads the helper state belonging to that camera instead of moving a helper from another camera. FOCUS AND DEPTH OF FIELD ------------------------ Set Focus starts an object-picking workflow in the active camera view. Camera and light nodes cannot be used as focus targets. After an object is selected, the script calculates the focal distance and applies the selected F/Stop formula. The F/Stop control is intended for the active camera. It does not change the geometry, materials or morphs of the scene. LIGHT MAP --------- The Light Map helper is loaded from the product resources and attached to the active camera. It is intended as a viewport lighting aid while arranging a shot. Light Zoom changes the helper scale. Luminance changes its emission level. Both controls are disabled while Light is OFF. Scale Frame changes the FramePanel scale. Frame Distance changes its local depth relative to the active camera. Both composition controls are available only while Framing is ON. The Light Map is a scene object. Saving the scene preserves its current state. Turning Light OFF removes the helper from the scene. COMPOSITION FRAMES ------------------ The FramePanel is loaded from the product resources and attached to the active camera. It uses a base-color image together with a matching opacity image. This allows the composition guide to appear as a thin overlay while the scene remains visible through transparent areas. The frame resources are supplied as pairs: - FrameWhite.png and FrameWhite-op2.png - GoldenRatio.png and GoldenRatio-op2.png - GoldenSpiral.png and GoldenSpiral-op2.png - LeadingLines.png and LeadingLines-op2.png - RuleOfThirds.png and RuleOfThirds-op2.png - Symmetry.png and Symmetry-op2.png The SVG files are used for the preset buttons in the script interface. The PNG files are used by the FramePanel material in the viewport. FramePanel is forced to remain hidden in the render. Framing is therefore a working viewport guide and does not add the selected image to the final rendered image. IMPORTANT --------- The scene must contain at least one camera before camera controls can be used. Set Focus requires an active camera viewport. Click the object in the camera view, not in the script window. Light Zoom and Luminance are available only while Light is ON. Composition preset buttons are available only while Framing is ON. If Framing is enabled and the FramePanel does not contain a recognized preset image, the script applies FrameWhite as the first preset and marks it as selected. FramePanel, Light Map and cutaway objects are scene data. Save the scene after making changes if the current helper state must be retained. The composition guides are not render content. They are intended for viewport composition and camera setup only. Iray Preview availability depends on the active DAZ Studio viewport and installed Iray support.
