MATERIAL FEEL ------------- The Material Feel tab provides five ready-to-use presets: - Silk - Cotton - Denim - Leather - Rubber Select a preset or move the Material Feel slider. The preview image shows the selected material style. Click Apply to write the preset values to the active dForce object. The material values are applied to all supported dForce providers belonging to that object and are read back for verification. The current preset profile is: Material Friction Local Shape Bend Stretch Shear Buckling Density Damping Stretch Damping Contraction-Expansion Silk 0.40 0.02 0.01 0.05 0.02 0.00 150 0.06 0.05 1.20 Cotton 0.196 0.09 0.17 0.20 0.06 0.02 165 0.15 0.10 1.00 Denim 0.196 0.12 0.20 0.24 0.10 0.05 180 0.20 0.10 1.00 Leather 0.196 0.18 0.30 0.32 0.17 0.15 195 0.30 0.10 1.00 Rubber 0.196 0.25 0.64 0.42 0.41 0.40 210 0.64 0.10 1.00 Additional damping values are set per preset. Silk uses 0.05 for Shear Damping and Bend Damping. Cotton, Denim, Leather and Rubber use 0.10 for these values. Velocity Smoothing is 0.00 for Silk, Cotton and Denim and 1.00 for Leather and Rubber. Smoothing iterations are 0 for all presets. The right side of the tab provides: - Self Collision - switches self-collision for the selected simulation object. - Bend Stiffness - adjusts bending resistance with a safety limit. - Interactive Update - disables or restores Interactive Update properties found in the scene and displays the objects that were changed. - Resolution Level - switches the selected object between Base and High Resolution. The Contraction-Expansion Ratio controls the artificial size change during simulation. A value above 1.00 expands the material. A value below 1.00 contracts it. Silk uses 1.20 by default to make its expansion behavior visible. SIMULATION LIST --------------- The Simulation List displays scene objects that have a dForce simulation provider. Each object can be controlled independently: - Visible - controls whether the object is visible in the scene and simulation. - Simulation - controls whether the object participates in the simulation. - Smoothing - controls surface smoothing for the object. For supported objects, clicking Smoothing can create a mesh smoothing modifier when one is not already present, then enable or disable its smoothing state. The bottom controls are: - Refresh - rebuilds the list from the current scene. - Check all - enables simulation for all listed objects. - Uncheck all - disables simulation for all listed objects. Use Simulation List to leave only the modes required for each object. Disabling unnecessary simulation objects can reduce calculations and unwanted collisions. FIGURE SIMULATION ----------------- The Figure Simulation tab is intended for a selected Genesis character. It is not used for clothing or other non-character objects. If no Genesis character is selected, the tab asks the user to select one. Click a point on the body diagram to change Visible in Simulation for the related body group. The available groups include: - Head - Neck - Spine 4, Spine 3, Spine 2 and Spine 1 - Pelvis - Shoulders - Upper arms - Forearms - Hands - Thighs - Shins - Feet When a group is disabled, dependent bones and descendant nodes are handled together where applicable. Head-related attachments such as eyes, eyelashes, tear ducts, mouth, teeth, tongue and eyebrows are also detected by name masks and disabled when they are present. Missing attachments are skipped without an error. The tab also provides: - Show all - enables all supported figure simulation parts. - Hide all - disables all supported figure simulation parts. - Refresh - rereads the current scene state. The character gender used by the body diagram is detected from the figure's base feminine and masculine head or body properties when available. The figure name is used as a fallback for older or differently named characters. SIMULATION SETTINGS ------------------- The Simulation Settings tab provides controls for: - Gravity - Air resistance - Initialization time - Frames to Simulate when available in the active dForce engine - Simulate from memorized pose - Pose transition Click Reset to Defaults to restore the default values for these settings. The script uses a 60-frame simulation duration when the active engine exposes the Frames to Simulate property and the value can be written successfully. INTERACTIVE UPDATE ------------------ Interactive Update can be disabled for all supported objects found in the current scene. The script shows a message listing the objects that were modified. When the button is pressed again, the saved values are restored and the affected objects are listed again. The main program window is disabled while the result message is open so that the user cannot start another operation before closing the message. RESOLUTION LEVEL ---------------- The Resolution Level button works with the selected object. Each click switches between: - Base - lower mesh complexity for a lighter and faster simulation. - High Resolution - the higher mesh resolution used by the object. Use Base when a simpler mesh is preferred for faster or more stable simulation calculations. High Resolution can preserve more detail at the cost of longer calculations. The current state is shown on the button. DIAGNOSTIC LOG -------------- Enable Diagnostic Log before testing when detailed verification is needed. The log records the selected material, applied values, provider read-back values, selected object, simulation range and final simulation status. The log is written beside the script as: dForceEasyDynamicsPRO_Diagnostic.log BASIC USE --------- 1. Select a clothing item or another object that should participate in the dForce simulation. 2. Open dForce Easy Dynamics PRO. 3. Click Add dForce Dynamic if the selected object does not have a dForce modifier. 4. Choose a Material Feel preset or adjust the Material Feel slider. 5. Click Apply to write the material settings. 6. Use Self Collision, Bend Stiffness, Interactive Update or Resolution Level as needed. 7. Open Simulation List and enable only the Visible, Simulation and Smoothing modes required for each object. 8. Select a Genesis character and use Figure Simulation to disable unnecessary body parts and dependent attachments. 9. Adjust Gravity, Air resistance, Initialization time, Frames to Simulate or Pose transition in Simulation Settings. 10. Click Simulate to run the simulation. 11. Click Reset to return the selected simulation to its reset state when needed. IMPORTANT --------- The result of a dForce simulation depends on the selected objects, their mesh resolution, collision settings, figure pose, scene scale, simulation duration and simulation parameters. If the cloth catches on an unwanted body part, disable that body group or its corresponding attachment in Figure Simulation and verify the Simulation List. Resolution Level Base can improve simulation speed by reducing mesh complexity, but it may also reduce the detail of the simulated result. High Resolution can preserve more detail at the cost of longer calculations. Material presets are starting points, not universal physical measurements. The same values can produce different results for different mesh density, scale, position, collision geometry and simulation duration. The script changes dForce simulation properties, visibility and simulation-related settings. It does not change character morphs, clothing shapes, materials or poses unless the selected dForce controls explicitly affect those properties.
