Fire & Flames for Poser March 9, 2003, Copyright qay Author: Ingo van den Berg Filename: Fire-&-Flames.zip Poser4 or higher is required to use this package! Thank you for purchasing "Fire & Flames for Poser" a sample of volumetric fire and flame effects. In addition you get one smoke version and two versions of a (fire-smoke) ball coming all as plate-props (effect-maps 1280 x 1024 at 72 dpi) for easy posing. Note: All effects contained in this package come with their own PP2, PNG and RSR files. Follow the install intruction and the folders within the zip-archieve should automatically install themselves into the correct directories because these files have been zipped from the \Runtime path. Install Instructions of the zip archieve: Unzip the files directly into your Poser4 (or higher) directory (make sure "use folders" is checked). If you experience any difficulties you need to copy the files manually in the destinated directories. To do that properly see the item list of the zip-archieve below. Usage-Tips: Complex Fire (used in picture example): Consists of three different terrains. To move the prop you should select terrain_X (terrain_1 -if it is your fist complex-fire prop in your scene). If complex-fire seems to be too transparent for your light settings you should just use two complex-fire props at the same place. Complex Flame: Consists of five different flame-objects. To move the prop you should select flame1_X (flame1_1 -if it is your fist complex-flame prop in your scene). Flame: Consists of four identical flame-objects. To move the prop you should select flame4_X (flame4_1 -if it is your fist flame prop in your scene). ------ Hint: Just check in the hierarchy editor to which terrain or flame-object the terrains or flame-objects in question are parented. Hint: If you want to animate the (complex-) flame you should use the wave-deformers of Poser to change the flame-look. ------ Note: It is typical for this volumetric-fire props that their look changes depended on the camera position and the light settings! To keep the look constant you just have to rotate the fire to your preffered look. Further I recommend to study the transparencies of the fire and flame props to learn how easily you can create fire and flame effects in Poser. Then you can change my transparency settings to your own ones as well as you can use the terrain- and flame- objects to construct not only your own fire- and flame-looks but also your completely own fire and flames.
