The Forest Dwelling Prop 03/10/03 by Richabri (Rick Bridenbaker) richabri@netzero.net or richabri@adelphia.net Thank you for purchasing the Forest Dwelling Prop for Poser! A big thanks to Kat (Ktn3d) for letting me use the ktnstonewall-2.jpg texture for the stone walls on the structures. For more quality textures visit the web site at http://solo23.abac.com/gotaborg/ktn3d =========================================================================== Description: =========================================================================== The Forest Dwelling prop replicates a rustic farm-like dwelling set in a Forest environment. The Forest Dwelling prop set features multiple structures, a sculpted landscape, trees and a backdrop sky prop. The use of trans mapped panels allowed for the easy simulation of a dense Forest background. The structures have fully detailed interiors as well as exteriors to allow for indoor/outdoor scenes. The prop includes everything you need to set up a beautiful rustic Forest scene including: * A sculpted terrain with rolling hills, stone walkways, boulder and creek. * A stone cottage house with opening door. * A stone forge/barn structure with two sets of opening double doors. * An animal pen with opening swing gate. * An oak and spruce tree - actual 3D models to add depth. * Low resolution conifer trans mapped panels. * Curved panoramic backdrop to host background sky images The House and Forge/Barn structures feature doors that rotate open from their hinges via a normal Y-Rotation. Everything comes as Poser Ready props that can be loaded from the sidebar menu or for even easier use - just load the included PZ3 file which has all of the props loaded with a default lighting and camera scheme. The Forest Dwelling prop also includes 8 camera presets & 2 light presets for easy scene creation. All of the prop's elements are completely modular and can be used separately or with other sets for maximum use and enjoyment. ============================================================================= Notes: ============================================================================= IMPORTANT NOTES ON USING THE BACKDROP PROP !!!!!!!! =============================================================================== This prop is just a curved plane and will not cover every possible camera view from one position. I recommend setting your camera first and then adjust (reposition and/or scale) the Backdrop prop to work with that chosen Camera view. =============================================================================== The Backdrop Prop allows you to add a sky/scene background to your renders. You can change the default Sky Background image to one of your own in the Material Dialog in Poser. Some things to note: If you choose to supply a texture of your own try to use a large image i.e.: 1024x768 or larger. Smaller images may appear pixallated due to stretching. Also, be careful about placing the Backdrop Prop so that shadows from the various scene elements do not project onto it - this will make your renders look very unrealistic :) =============================================================================== The shadow casting ability of the main structures are turned off by default to make it easier to light any chosen camera view. You can turn them back on by selecting the structures and going to Object - Properties from the Poser menu and clicking the Cast Shadows checkbox. No BUM files were provided to keep the archive file size down. You may wish to load the corresponding textures in as bump maps to enhance your renders. The textures were chosen to provide the best look to the scene. You can easily change the look of the elements by changing the appropriate textures/colors in Material Dialog Box in Poser. The lighting presets were provided to give a general illumination of this set. They may be adequate for most scenes but I highly recommend adjusting these light presets for any scenes you may create if you choose to use them. =============================================================================== You will need Poser 4/5 or later with the latest patches or Pro Pack to use these props. =============================================================================== To install: Unzip the archive (ForDwell.zip) to the root folder wherever you installed Poser 4: (i.e., C:\Program Files\Metacreations\Poser 4). Some adjustments may be necessary to account for different computer environments.
