Weather Control for Poser March 16, 2003, Copyright qay Author: Ingo van den Berg Filename: Weather-Control.zip Poser4 or higher is required to use this package! Thank you for purchasing "Weather Control for Poser" a collection of weather related FX- Effects (effect-maps 1280 x 1024 at 72 dpi). If you need a different resolution or size than the deliverd one you can contact me and I will send you the prefered size/resolution. In order to make your work as easy as possible the effects contained in this package come as plate-props - in total 22- ( with its own PP2, PNG and RSR file) for easy posing. Follow the install intruction and the folders within the zip-archieve should automatically install themselves into the correct directories because these files have been zipped from the \Runtime path. Install Instructions of the zip archieve: Unzip the files directly into your Poser4 directory (make sure "use folders" is checked). If you experience any difficulties you need to copy the files manually in the destinated directories. To do that properly see the item list of the zip-archieve below. Some Usage-Tips: In General: You should leave the transparency settings of the effect-props (material1) as they are but you can try different settings of the ambient colour and/or object colours (I recommend in conjunction with white "whatever" effects) to create your own styled effects. Change direction of an effect: Set Rotate(x) from 90° to -90°- Note if you do that it is possible depending on the document (visuable) mode that you will loose the visual control of the plate on which the effect is applied. Just change the document mode to pure wire frame mode and you can see and pose the plate again. I recommend to create your scenery first then to pose and scale the effects by using only some bright lights (to be able to render the scene quickly and to be able to check the right position of the effects) and at last you should pose your light and change the light settings to your preffered ones. Note: For your final render you should make sure that you turned off "shadow throwing" of the plate-props. Rain-Effects: There are two kinds of rain: -thin-rain (rain 1&2 in your prop-library) -raindrop-props (used in one picture-example) Using thin-rain it is possible (dependend on your light and background settings) that you are not able to see the rain in your rendered picture in your intended way. Then you can use fog to make the rain indirectly visible or you can just use the raindrop-props (the raindrops are visible undependend of the light and background settings) The fog-props can be used horizontally and vertically. You can create a more volumetric fog-look by using several fog-props. All you have to do is to place the fog-props behind each other. Hint: Try different combinations of the delivered props for example to create your own weather-effects (use snow-prop1 and 3 to create strong snowing and a more 3D-look of yor scene).
