By following the installation instructions found below, you should be rendering in no time. ___________________ Requires: Poser version 4.0.3, Pro Pack or Poser5 for PC or Macintosh. Macintosh users should enlist the aid of two free utilities for easiest installation: Poser Maconverter (current version: 1.1.8) Poser Macinstaller (current version: 1.0.6) Both are available as free downloads from http://www.soft-rabbit.de/ ___________________ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Simply unzip the archive to your Poser 4 directory using the "Use folder names" option in Winzip. This will create the necessary folders and subfolders and unzip the files into their appropriate locations. If you choose to perform a manual install... Locate your Poser 4 folder on your hard drive. With a "normal" poser install the poser 4 folder is usually found under c:\program files\metacreations or under c:\program files\curious labs. Inside your Poser 4 folder, locate the subfolder "Runtime \ Libraries \ Props". Copy the "MatriFX" folder into the "Runtime \ Libraries \ Props" folder. Inside your Poser 4 folder, locate the subfolder "Runtime \ Textures". Create a sub-folder entitled "CmdCtrlEsc" and copy the "MatrixFX" textures folder into the "Runtime \ Textures \ CmdCtrlEsc" folder. ___________________ USAGE TIPS: 1. "Destructo" wall and column: The "Morph Wall" and "Column" props each have 5 "destructo" zones, which allow simulation of brick and mortar being blasted away by bullets, other projectiles, magic fireballs... and so forth. To activate these zones, go to the Materials editor for the prop and turn the transparency for the zone to 100%. There is a "d zone" and a "c zone" for each area of destruction. One of these is the outer wall (or column), which exposes the brick beneath, and the other is the inner wall, which hides the brick, exposing the deeper core of the wall or column. After you have set the transparency on your zone(s), now is the time to add the debris props. There is a "Brick Burst" and a "Stone Burst" prop, each of which morphs from zero to infinite in positive or negative directions in the "burst" channel. Selecting different morph values for this channel, changing the prop scale, rotation, and color will allow for a truly infinite variety of debris clouds. Generally, two or three burst props are all that is required to add realism to a "destructo" zone, but if you desire a dense cloud of fine particles, you may find you need several more props to achieve your effect. 2. Bullet trail and blood sprays: The bullet trail props have two material zones: bullet and trail. If you need a longer bullet trail than the prop provides, the best method for lengthening it is not scaling it, but in adding a second bullet prop, turning the "bullet" material transparency to 100%, and parenting the second trail to the first. The connected trail props can now be positioned as one prop. Similarly, if you wish to show a bullet hitting a figure resulting in a spray of blood, it is best to load a bullet prop, and then load a blood spray prop before moving the bullet. Position the blood prop where you want it along the bullet trail, then parent the blood to the bullet prop. Then you can move the joined props together as one, and lastly parent them to the desired body part of your figure. In particularly dark renders, you may need to tweak the reflectivity and/or transparency falloff of the bullet trail to keep them from blending into the background too much. ___________________ FILES INCLUDED: Runtime Libraries Props MatriFX Blood spray 1 (pp2, png, and rsr) Blood spray 2 (pp2, png, and rsr) Blood spray 3 (pp2, png, and rsr) Brick Burst (pp2, png, and rsr) Bullet 1 (pp2, png, and rsr) Bullet 2 (pp2, png, and rsr) Bullet 3 (pp2, png, and rsr) Ceiling (pp2, png, and rsr) Column (pp2, png, and rsr) Floor (pp2, png, and rsr) Morph Wall (pp2, png, and rsr) Plain Wall (pp2, png, and rsr) Stone Burst (pp2, png, and rsr) Textures CmdCtrlEsc MatrixFX asphalt_tile.jpg column.jpg wall_1.jpg wall_2.jpg
