Veronica Hair October 28, 2003 Reed Waller / rwaller@winternet.com Veronica Hair is another period hairstyle, like my Roz Hair. Veronica Hair, however, because of its length, is a conforming figure instead of a prop. The style is inspired by Veronica Lake, famous for her "peekaboo bang" that was banned by the U.S. Government in WWII as unsafe. It has a fairly low poly count, for the complexity of the model, so it loads and renders quickly. There are no morphs to mess with, because they're not needed, and I wanted to conserve file size. I have included three textures, the default blonde, and a Rita Red, and Liz Black texture file. MAT pose files are included for P4 and P5 shading. There is also a template included. This package includes four cr2 files for P4 and P5 versions of the hair, each for V2 or V3. The texture maps are 2000x2000, medium high resolution. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation The files are in a zip archive, just point WinZip to your Poser4 (or Poser5) directory and extract using folder names. Mac users will need to convert the files using Poser Maconverter (just drag the Runtime folder onto MacConverter), then follow the installation instructions or use Poser Macinstaller. You will have to do this in Classic. Poser Maconverter and Poser Macinstaller are both available from www.soft-rabbit.com, and they both run OK under Classic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation Instructions This file goes into Runtime:Geometries:rwaller: VeronicaHair.obj The texture files should go into Runtime:textures:rwaller: veronicacolor.jpg (the blonde style which loads) veronicacolorLIZ.jpg veronicacolorRITA.jpg veronicatrans.jpg The CR2 files can go into Runtime:Libraries:character:rwaller: VeronicaHairV2P5.cr2 VeronicaHairV3P5.cr2 VeronicaHairV2P4.cr2 VeronicaHairV3P4.cr2 plus .png and .rsr TN files The MAT files will go into Runtime:Pose:VeronicaHair: VH-RONNIE-P4.pz2 VH-RONNIE-P5.pz2 VH-RITA-P4.pz2 VH-RITA-P5.pz2 VH-LIZ-P4.pz2 VH-LIZ-P5.pz2 plus .png and .rsr TN files ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Usage Information Load from Figures:Veronica Hair: as a conforming character, and select "Conform to". One caveat ... because of the low poly count and the way it is built, it is better to put most of the movement in the head rather than the neck, especially when twisting. Moving the neck more than 30¡ will cause the geometry to stretch out of shape. It is recommended that you move the neck up to 20¡ and then do the rest of the rotation with the head. This model is Poser 5 friendly. Poser 4 users may get lots of enjoyment from it, but it renders especially well in the Firefly renderer (see illustrations). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Usage Rights You may use the Veronica Hair for your commercial and/or non-commercial artwork.
