You have seen textures by Morris. You have seen the RealSkin Shader by Face_off, see what happens when two "merchants of the month" combine forces!

The terms "photo-realistic", "ultra-photorealistic", "high-resolution", "highly-detailed" and so on, get thrown around a lot. Well this is the next step! HyperREALITY!

The textures in this HyperREAL kit are extremely detailed, right down to her fingerprints!
The textures were built from scratch, utilizing sources from Morris' own personal collection of hi-res photos and from www.3d.sk.
No texture kits were used as a base, you are getting a brand new, beautiful, richly detailed texture.

The bumps maps were built and optimized for the HyeprREAL textures. Skin goosebumps, skin pores, fine lines in the lips, for example, and were built into the bump maps, to bring out truly gorgeous results!

These texturemaps have then been combined with brand new maps which control the amount of SSS (subsurface scattering/blushing), specular, freckles and displacement throughout Victoria’s figure. These are controlled by a revolutionary python script, which provides the user with controls to customize skin tone, brightness, spottiness, highlights, make-up and even lip gloss. For convenience, the shader settings for all the figures in your scene are saved when you save that scene, so each time you run the script, it defaults to the previous shader state.

...Will this package run on a MacIntosh?...........................................

The script is NOT supported on the MacIntosh version of Poser, and will not run. Limitations in the python implementation the Mac version of Poser, and a Material Room bug mean that a Mac version of this system is not feasible.

...How does it work?...............................................................

HyperReal technology is based on the original RealSkinShader, but has been enhanced to work specifically with Victoria3 and a custom built texturemap set developed by Morris, to provide far more realism and flexibility than has previously been possible.

The HyperReal script provides the following control when you run it:

Fake Subsurface-Scattering (sss):
This is at the heart of the system, and provides the warmth to Victoria3 to give her life. Based on the Incidence Effect of the original RealSkinShader, the sss effect has been tailored to so that it is mapped onto Victoria's body. So parts of Victoria get more sss, and other parts less - still controlled by the position of your main light. The result is amazing, and a significant leap forward in Poser realism. As with all features in HyperReal, the sss effect can be increased or decreased by the user through a slider.

Skin-tone, Brightness and Freckles Adjustment:
Although HyperReal relies on using a single texturemap set for Victoria, you can customise this texturemap set everytime the HyperReal script is run - with the Skin-Tone, Brightness and Freckles (Additional Spots) sliders. With the Skin-Tone slider, you can make Victoria's skin paler (if you want redder skin, increase the sss slider). The brightness slider allows you to darken/tan her skin. And the Additional Spots slider adds a subtle level of noise and freckles to the texturemap - and as with the sss slider - it does this according to a map - meaning that freckles will not be added to certain parts of the body (like Victoria's lips).

Fresnel Effect:
This tied and proven effect from the RealSkinShader has been bought across into the HyperReal system. The fresnel effect adds a very fine layer of noise to the parts of Victoria's skin that face 45 degrees to the camera. This adds realism to your render, although the eye doesn't actually notice the effect.

Make-up:
A number of make-up options are available, and these are selected when you run the HyperReal script (rather than by applying a mat pose).

Skin Highlighting:
The huge amount of development has gone into the specular effects of the HyperReal system. The system now does a double-specular effect - bringing out the natural oiliness of skin that is facing the camera, together with the over-exposure of back-lights. To truely bring out the best specular effect, a specular map is included to control which parts of Victoria reflect a lot of light, and which parts are dull. The HyperReal script also has a slider to allow the user to adjust the overall strength of skin shininess, and another slider to control the oiliness of her skin.

Glossy Lips:
The script gives you an option to either have lips that are natural (match the SkinHead material settings) or glossy.

Skin Roughness:
There are controls to add bump mapping and displacement mapping. For displacement
mapping, a "granite" 'roughness' node is added to the skin - and the amount (depth)
of the roughness is controlled by a map. So there will be very little displacement
on Victoria's face, but more on her legs and hips.

Fine-Tuning:
The HyperReal script includes default values at the start of the script which can be modified by advanced users of the system. This gives you total control over all the parameters that the script uses to build the node network, such as sss color, spots color, specular eccentricity, lip gloss sharpness, etc.

They HyperREAL kit will work with your favorite lighting, but we included a few special lights for Poser 5, that utualize backlighting and raytrace shadows to get you started. (These lights will work in Poser 4 as well, but you will recieve a version error. But the lights will use p4 shadow maps rather then raytrace shadows.)

You MUST own THE Victoria 3 Base and both the head and body morph packages to properly use this package. These items can be purchased through DAZ3d.com

The textures will also work with SP3, and Aiko 3, with the shader set up to accomodate the 2 extra material zones of Aiko 3.

The MOR poses will inject the correct Morph targets and set the values to set up your V3 character. However, in order to utilize the expressions for V3, you will need to use the expression injection poses.

To install this package simply locate your Poser 4 folder, or ProPack or Poser 5, depending on what application you will be using) and unzip with "use folder options" selected, the files are already set to create and load into the proper folders.

...Directions for use in P5........................................................

Start a new scene

1) Load V3

2) Click the Mat pose !P5HyperREALPrepMAT

3) Setup your lighting

4) Select the figure you want the shader to run on (ie. the figure you applied the !p5HyperREALPrepMAT to), AND select your main scene light. The main scene light controls the fake sss effect, and it's position will effect the realism of your image. In general, your main light should be the brightest light in your scene, and will be reasonally close to the camera (however, you should experiment with main light positions to get different results).

5) Run the V3HyperRealSkinShader shader....you can do this either of 2 ways...

a) by selecting File->Run Python Script from the menu, and selecting the poserScripts\V3HyperRealSkinShader.py file

or

b) Go to "Window" on the menu bar. Select "Python Scripts". The Python window will appear. Click an empty button. A window will appear promting you to search for a python script. If you did the default install of the HyperREAL zip, the script will be in the following path

Runtime\Python\poserScripts.

Click on the V3HyperRealSkinShader and select open.
The shader will now appear in your Python window. To run the shader simply click on it.
The Skin shader window will open up. You can the default settings of the shader or play around with the
sliders to achieve countless resaults!

6) The shader script will present a setup window. The dials control the texture and rendering of the figure as per the How Does It Work description above. Once you are happy with the setup parameters (use the defaults for your first few renders), click the Generate Skin button. The script will now generate the Material Room nodes. Once it is complete, there will be a window saying "V3HyperRealSkinShader finished". Check that scene for any warning or error messages. The script will tell you if you selected a light that was not the brightest in the scene, or a figure with does not appear to be Victoria3.

7) After you hve run the shader, Render!

To re-run the shader script for a figure in your scene - simply follow steps 4 & 6 above. When you re-run the script, it will remember what settings you previously used for that figure - allowing you to make fine adjustments to get the results you want. You MUST re-run the shader script if you move the MAIN LIGHT in your scene. You can save time by connecting the script to your python window (as per 5b avove).

Some helpful tips for rendering with these textures in Poser 5, be sure to use production mode for your final render, have "Smooth Polygons" checked, "texture filtering" UNCHECKED and "use Displacement Maps" checked, and "ray tracing checked".
Finally to completely take advantage of the displacement maps, be sure you to set your "Minimum Displacement bounds" to 1.OO in your render options window. You can adjust this if you need to depending on how much detail you want to see in your final render.

if your system resources are low, you may encounter the script turning the head white unrendered, when reruning the script to change make-up files. The head map will show up normally when rendered. However so as not to encounter this, you may just need to save your scene, and reboot your system to refresh the memory.
