Thank you so much for purchasing Painted Worlds II. These 15 high-resolution files (each at 300 dpi) have been saved in .jpg format at dimensions of 2000 pixels & their corresponding pixel dimensions (which vary).

***It is important to note here that these files are not meant to be uploaded to the galleries at full size (as in most cases they will exceed Renderosity's allowable limit once they've been incorporated with other elements such as figures and props). The 2000 pixel dimensions are such as to give you a larger surface on which to plan and execute your images, with the intention that you shrink the whole thing down later once all your other elements have been added and postworked (if you do any postwork). In addition, at full size you may notice "scribbles" or "squigglies" within the images -- in other words, at full size not everything will appear perfectly smooth. Please be assured, however, that this "technique" is intentional, and not an example of oversight or shoddy paintwork -- little squigglies or "unsmoothed-out" portions will allow the work to retain some semblance of texture and detail once the image is shrunk to gallery size or printed.***

Needed Files/Programs to use these backgrounds:
Poser 4.03 or later (or any other rendering software such as Bryce or Vue), and any photoediting software program such as Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop, or Corel (formerly JASC) Paintshop Pro. Please note also that these backgrounds were created on PCs with more than 512mb of RAM each (although machines with less memory should not have trouble accommodating these images).

Instructions: Export the .jpg files to any folder of your choosing. They can be used in one of two ways: (1) Import them as background pictures to your Poser program (to render your Poser figures/props against). Choose File/Import/Background Picture, and then answer "yes" when asked if you want your document window to match the dimensions of the picture. For this option, it is recommended that you import the picture into an empty poser scene, and then build your characters, props, and lights around it. (2) Open the backgrounds in your photoediting program to use as background layers for your already-rendered figures. Choose File/Open/Backgroundname.jpg. It is assumed that you will have saved your rendered Poser figure/scene as a TIFF file, as TIFFs retain alpha channels within them to make it easy to "lift" the figure/scene from that TIFF and place it against any background of choice. It is also assumed that buyers of these backgrounds already have a basic working knowledge of this procedure; however, feel free to contact us if you need assistance in that regard.

We did not include a tutorial with this pkg for two reasons: (1) We assume that buyers of these backgrounds already have a working knowledge of Poser and postwork, and (2) there already are some wonderful FREE tutorials available which detail the process of rendering a Poser figure and then integrating it with a background. We have found two fantastic ones in the Tutorials section at Renderosity (http://www.renderosity.com/tut.ez), written by jwdell and kirisute, which walk you through the process of an image from the first Poser stage to the final postwork touchups.

However: if you require and/or simply want assistance or to pick our brains, feel free to email us at the addresses listed at the top of this readme, or send us an IM at Renderosity. We want, more than anything, for you to be happy with your purchase and to have many hours of happy rendering and painting. :O)

Painted Worlds II may be used for personal and/or commercial artworks. This means you can sell any artwork you make using the image files in this pkg as backgrounds for your 2D or 3D figures/props. You may not, however, redistribute the original files herein on any media, nor may you alter them in any way to make your own background pkgs which would directly compete with this product, or to create artworks for sale which are comprised solely of elements derived from this pkg. The backgrounds themselves remain our property and we reserve all rights to them.

We shall, in no event, be liable for any damages from computer failure or malfunction, or any and all other commercial damages or losses.
