FIf you are reading this, please note that there is a MUCH easier to read .PDF version of this readme, including an extensive all-new Lighting and FireFly™ Rendering tutorial included in the package. Please open IrinaAdv_README.PDF instead (you will require Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or greater, available as a free download from www.adobe.com). *NOTE: A handful of early viewers commented that the .PDF was difficult to read. If you have your monitor properly calibrated, the dark grey text on the gray background should be a very comfortable read, and is designed to be easy on the eyes (unlike black on white which literally makes my eyes burn on far shorter documents than this one). If you see the text as black, see it as a sign that your monitor needs to be calibrated, or in the least you need to adjust your gamma and screen brightness/contrast. I could simply increase the .PDF contrast to cater to all possible monitor configurations, but the fact is that if you are having problems reading the .PDF and you are in the 3D field (whether professional or hobbyist) then you will run into far more problems with an improperly calibrated monitor than simply not being able to read my tutorial. Try QuickGamma, a small free utility that will help you visually adjust your Gamma on the fly without having to buy an expensive calibrator. http://quickgamma.de/indexen.html Norman Koren Photography also has several useful tools, charts, and articles for calibrating your monitor, take a minute to check them out. http://www.normankoren.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ::IRINA: Adventuress for Stephanie Petite:: ©2005 Blackhearted & Rio. All content created by Blackhearted & Rio, no merchant resource packs or anything of the like were used in the making of this product. The Irina: Adventuress clothing pack is a set of realistic clothing and gear that gives Irina a sexy, yet functional outfit for her adventuring needs. Combine it with the original Irina string bikini, (now remorphed into a daringly low-rise version with morphs to fit her new 'endowments') to create a range of outfits from gritty adventuring heroine to beach pinup girl or even punk chic. Included in the Pack: * new 'breast implant' injection morph for Irina * conforming tank top, with 8 textures * wet t-shirt material for the tank, with unique transparency and specularity maps * conforming shorts with 7 different camo textures * conforming boots with smart-propped boot knife, and strap morph * conforming harness with holsters in black, olive and black/olive colors * fully articulated, photorealistic H&K USP Match handgun props ready for animation * highly detailed shades with custom reflections ideal for facial closeups * remorphed Irina string bikini, with low-rise bottom, triangle top and camo textures * starter & hand poses, detailed useage and rendering tips I ask that even veteran Poser users give this Readme a once-over, since it covers any issues that may arise using this package with the various Poser versions, and gives some tips on getting the most out of your renders with it - I've been using Poser for years but I still pick up new tricks with the Firefly™ renderer every week, and you in turn might find something useful. With Irina, I've tried to create a level of realism a notch above the average Poser product. Unlike some clothing packs in which the merchant has cut corners, that have her clothing standing 1-2" away from her skin, Irina's clothing is pretty skin-tight. I've included several JCMs (joint-controlled morphs) in the shirt, shorts and harness that should compensate for most of this, and allow a solid range of movement, but there will be extreme poses where slight adjustment is necessary. The trade-off is that you either get loosely-conformed clothing, or you get skin-tight clothing that looks more realistic but requires some user intervention when it comes to extreme poses. I chose the latter. The harness is a complex set of webbing and clips, and conforms well considering that it is totally unlike regular clothing in nature. I could have modelled a simpler type of harness, with just a strap running down the side of the leg, and it would have posed slightly better - however there are a half dozen harnesses of that type in the market right now, and I wanted to create a more authentic version. The front clips of the harness will deform in extreme poses (the rear ones are fine), and the handguns might need a slight nudge when you spread her legs, due to the fact that they are hard objects parented to a flexing harness. For the sake of detail, parts of the outfit have high-res meshes and textures. The entire outfit uses significantly less resources than loading a second millennium 3 figure into the scene - the total polycount is roughly the same, but with vicky3, steph3, mike3, etc the resource useage is multiplied exponentially by the amount of morph dials that are included in the figure (even the base figures without injected morphs have hundreds of dials). If you have any questions, or run into any problems please dont hesitate to contact me. Thank you for choosing my work. If you are happy with this product, please take a moment and let others know by filling out the Renderosity feedback form. Unlike other merchants, I wont bribe you with free products or gifts if you do so (I think it corrupts the entire feedback system) - but you will have my sincerest gratitude. Cheers, -Gabriel USEAGE INSTRUCTIONS Extract the Runtime.zip archive included in this pack into your Poser install directory. Choose overwrite files when prompted (I use the same folder names, and some files such as reflection maps may be common among several of my products). Please Note: All of the following instructions assume that you are using the Irina files that correspond to your poser version. When you install the product, three folders are installed into your Poser Figures library: BH Irina - Adventuress BH Irina - Advr Poser4 BH Irina - Advr ProPack the versions they are for are self-explanatory. The 'BH Irina - Adventuress' folder is for P5 users only, and takes advantage of all of the advanced shaders available in P5 (displacement mapping, specularity mapping, etc). The Poser4 folder uses the .BUM format for bump maps*. The ProPack folder uses the same materials as the Poser4 version, but dispenses with the need to convert .JPG bump maps to Poser4's archaic .BUM format. Please DELETE the two version folders that do not apply to your Poser installation - this will avoid any confusion or accidental loading of MATs that are not optimized for your version of Poser. In the following instructions I will refer to the Adventuress figure folder as 'BH Irina - Adventuress', but this can change depending on your Poser version (see above list for full folder names). Attention: Poser 4 (Standard) Users *Poser4 users must also convert the .JPG bump maps to poser4 .BUM format. If you are an experienced Poser4 user, you need to convert the following files to .BUM format: Runtime\textures\Blackhearted\Irina_RR\boot_knife.jpg Runtime\textures\Blackhearted\Irina_RR\boots_bump.jpg Runtime\textures\Blackhearted\Irina_RR\harness_bump.jpg Runtime\textures\Blackhearted\USP\usp_matchUVbump.jpg If you do not know how to convert .JPG format bump maps to P4 .BUM format, follow these instructions: * Open the Materials window in Poser4. Render -> Materials, or hit CTRL+U * In the 'Bump Map' field, click LOAD. navigate to the first of the above files, Runtime\textures\Blackhearted\Irina_RR\boot_knife.jpg and hit OPEN. * At the 'Image files must be converted into BUMP maps...' prompt, choose YES. Poser will create a .BUM file. * Repeat for all 4 of the above files. Once you have converted them with this procedure, you will be able to use all of the figures in the 'BH Irina - Advr Poser4' folder in your Poser4 figures library. In order for the joint controlled morphs in Irina's conforming clothing to work properly, Irina must be loaded as Figure 1. There are also various unpredictable bugs that may occur with crosstalk when using several figures or reloading figures to the library, so it is best if you start with a fresh new document, or if you run into problems then close Poser (yes, unfortunately restart the entire program) and restart with an empty new document. This has nothing to do with how Irina's clothing is set up, it has to do with the plethora of Poser bugs related to crosstalk - if you want to learn more simply do a search for "poser +crosstalk" and youll be overwhelmed by the number of threads on it. LOADING IRINA * Load Stephanie 3 Petite (SR1 or greater) from your figure library. * Go to Blackhearted Irina MAT in your poses library, and click on !rina Inject. you will see her morph load. now click on !rina Implant Inject to do some instant plastic surgery on her and load her breast implants. (Always load Implants after body morph). * Now if you wish to load Irina's skin shaders, simply click on !rina Base MAT. The default DAZ eyes will disappear. * Go back to your figure library, to the Blackhearted Irina folder. Load the BlackEyes. they will automatically pop into place and parent themselves to Irina's head. * Now to load her clothing/gear. In the figure library you will find the BH Irina - Adventuress folder (note - this folder name changes based on your Poser version). * Load her Shirt. With the shirt selected, go to Figure -> Conform To, and select Figure 1 from the dropdown list. The shirt will conform to Irina and move along with her. Her nipples are poking through - but we will fix that in a moment. * Repeat the above process for her Shorts. * When you load her Harness, pay attention because the right Handgun is selected when it loads into the scene. Select the Harness, and click Figure -> Conform To, and choose Figure 1. The guns do not need to be conformed, they are parented to the Harness and will move along with it. * Repeat the same for the Boots. Make sure the boot, and not the Knife is selected when you conform (the knife doesnt need to be conformed). You must conform both boots separately. * The glasses do not need to be conformed, they will automatically load and parent to her head. To fix her nipples poking through her shirt, simply select her RCollar and LCollar body parts, and turn the 'NippleGone' dials to 1.0000. All of her clothing should now be conformed, and bend/move with her as you pose her. The guns that load with the harness are best left in the harness. When you want to pose her holding her weapons, load the USP R and USP L figures from the library. these are already positioned in her hand, and correspond to the Hand Pose included in the pack. There are directions below on how to use these poses. If you wish to remove the knife from her boot, simply delete it or move it to where you wish. there is a morph dial on the RShin of the right boot called 'Knife Strap' that you can turn to 0.000 to tighten the strap. POSING IRINA WITH HER HANDGUNS I have spent several days trying to include a set of starter poses for Irina, properly gripping her weapons. Unfortunately, two things prevented me from doing this successfully: Poser's unreliable and buggy file format handling, and Daz3D's unreasonable license restrictions disallowing content creators - the lifeblood of the poser community - the ability to distribute CR2 (character) files with their products. I could very easily have just included a .CR2 file with Irina wearing the entire outfit with her guns in place, and parented to her properly, and the user of the product would still have to have purchased Stephanie Petite from Daz for it to load. It would have done everything I just described in the last three or four sections for you automatically. Since I wanted to include a basic starting ground for Posing Irina with her weapons, I will still provide them - but understand that they are included as a 'bonus' free product and are unsupported. I would like to devote all of my time providing my customers with solid products, and updates and add-ons to my existing products, and not trying to figure out the mysteries of Poser file format handling. So, here are some instructions on how to get the guns parented to her properly and save her to your library. The steps may seem complicated, but they are a snap if you follow these steps in order. You should only have to do this once (*cough* if Daz would have more reasonable content creator licensing then you would not have to do this at all). I am assuming that you have followed the above instructions and have Irina loaded properly into the scene with her clothing. These handguns replace the ones in her holsters, so go ahead and delete those from the scene. * Select Figure 1 (Irina) Choose Figure -> Use Inverse Kinematics, and de-select the LeftLeg (there should be no checkmark). Repeat for the RightLeg. * Open the Joint Editor (Window -> Joint Editor), and with Irina selected click 'Zero Figure'. Close the Joint Editor window. The figure is now in a perfectly neutral T-pose. * Load the first handgun. Load USP R from the BH Irina - Adventuress folder. This loads her righthand weapon. With the USP R figure selected, click Figure -> Set Parent, and scroll down to -Figure 1, -Right Hand. Doubleclick Right Hand. The right handgun is now parented to her Right Hand. * Select Irina. Open your Hands library, and in the 'Blackhearted Irina' folder, there is a hand pose (USP Hand). click it, and choose Right Hand. Irina's Right hand should now correctly grasp the handgun. * Repeat this for the LEFT handgun. Load USP L, and with it selected click Figure -> Set Parent, and choose -Figure 1, -Left Hand. Select Irina, and from the Hands library load the USP Hand pose, but this time select 'Left Hand'. * You should now have Irina zeroed in your scene, with both of her hands properly grasping their respective handguns, and the guns are parented to her. You should save her to your Poser figure library, so you wont have to go through all of these steps again. Click the + sign in your BH Irina - Adventuress folder, give it a name (like 'Irina with Guns), and choose 'Whole Group' when prompted. Now whenever you want to load her with her guns in her hands, you can just load the figure from the library. Now, with Irina selected, you can load the Kickstart poses in the Blackhearted Irina Pose folder of your poses directory. These should get you started. If you load a pose by another merchant/artist that changes her hands, you can restore them to the handgun grasp pose from your Hand poses library at any time. ::FILELIST:: ------------ IrinaAdv_README.PDF reflect_usp.jpg usp_matchUVbump.jpg usp_matchUVdiff.jpg usp_matchUVdisp.jpg chrome.jpg boot_knife.jpg boots_HARDWARE.jpg boots_LEATHER.jpg boots_bump.jpg boots_spec.jpg buttons.jpg harness_black.jpg harness_bump.jpg harness_spec.jpg harness_texture.jpg metal.jpg shirt_BH.jpg shirt_SPEC.jpg shirt_TRANS.jpg shirt_black.jpg shirt_blue.jpg shirt_grey.jpg shirt_olive.jpg shirt_red.jpg shirt_teal.jpg shirt_white.jpg shorts_black.jpg shorts_black_cuff.jpg shorts_olive.jpg shorts_olive_cuff.jpg shorts_red.jpg shorts_red_cuff.jpg shorts_tan.jpg shorts_tan_cuff.jpg shorts_urban.jpg shorts_urban2.jpg shorts_urban2_cuff.jpg shorts_urban_cuff.jpg shorts_white.jpg shorts_white_cuff.jpg specs_reflect.jpg suit_trebark.jpg _Kickstart 1.png _Kickstart 1.pz2 _Kickstart 1.rsr _Kickstart 2.png _Kickstart 2.pz2 _Kickstart 2.rsr _Kickstart 3.png _Kickstart 3.pz2 _Kickstart 3.rsr _Kickstart 4.png _Kickstart 4.pz2 _Kickstart 4.rsr _Shipped New.png _Shipped New.pz2 _Shipped New.rsr !rina Implant Inject.png !rina Implant Inject.pz2 !rina Implant Inject.rsr Shirt BH.png Shirt BH.pz2 Shirt BH.rsr Shirt Black.png Shirt Black.pz2 Shirt Black.rsr Shirt Blue.png Shirt Blue.pz2 Shirt Blue.rsr Shirt Grey.png Shirt Grey.pz2 Shirt Grey.rsr Shirt Olive.png Shirt Olive.pz2 Shirt Olive.rsr Shirt Red.png Shirt Red.pz2 Shirt Red.rsr Shirt Teal.png Shirt Teal.pz2 Shirt Teal.rsr Shirt White.png Shirt White.pz2 Shirt White.rsr Shorts Black.png Shorts Black.pz2 Shorts Black.rsr Shorts Olive.png Shorts Olive.pz2 Shorts Olive.rsr Shorts Red.png Shorts Red.pz2 Shorts Red.rsr Shorts Tan.png Shorts Tan.pz2 Shorts Tan.rsr Shorts Urban.png Shorts Urban.pz2 Shorts Urban.rsr Shorts Urban2.png Shorts Urban2.pz2 Shorts Urban2.rsr Shorts White.png Shorts White.pz2 Shorts White.rsr suit_trebark.png suit_trebark.pz2 suit_trebark.rsr USP Hand.hd2 USP Hand.png USP Hand.rsr PP Boots.cr2 PP Boots.png PP Glasses.cr2 PP Glasses.png PP Harness Black.cr2 PP Harness Black.png PP Harness Mixed.cr2 PP Harness Mixed.png PP Harness Olive.cr2 PP Harness Olive.png PP Shirt Wet.cr2 PP Shirt Wet.png PP Shirt.cr2 PP Shirt.png PP Shorts.cr2 PP Shorts.png PP USP L.cr2 PP USP L.png PP USP R.cr2 PP USP R.png _Low-Rise Thong.cr2 _Low-rise Thong.png _Triangle Top.cr2 _Triangle Top.png P4 Boots.cr2 P4 Boots.rsr P4 Glasses.cr2 P4 Glasses.rsr P4 Harness Black.cr2 P4 Harness Black.rsr P4 Harness Mixed.cr2 P4 Harness Mixed.rsr P4 Harness Olive.cr2 P4 Harness Olive.rsr P4 Shirt Wet.cr2 P4 Shirt Wet.rsr P4 Shirt.cr2 P4 Shirt.rsr P4 Shorts.cr2 P4 Shorts.rsr P4 USP L.cr2 P4 USP L.rsr P4 USP R.cr2 P4 USP R.rsr _Low-Rise Thong.cr2 _Low-rise Thong.rsr _Triangle Top.cr2 _Triangle Top.rsr Boots.cr2 Boots.png Glasses.cr2 Glasses.png Harness Black.cr2 Harness Black.png Harness Mixed.cr2 Harness Mixed.png Harness Olive.cr2 Harness Olive.png Shirt Wet.cr2 Shirt Wet.png Shirt.cr2 Shirt.png Shorts.cr2 Shorts.png USP L.cr2 USP L.png USP R.cr2 USP R.png _Low-Rise Thong.cr2 _Low-rise Thong.png _Triangle Top.cr2 _Triangle Top.png lowrise_bottom.obj rrstring_top.obj usp_match.obj rrBoot_l.obj rrBoot_r.obj rrHarness.obj rrShirt.obj rrShorts.obj
