Gothic Ruin. (c) M. Philipse, March 2005 ======================================================================= All of this product's content was created by Martin Philipse. mwgphilipse@hotmail.com The "roughwall" jpg texture is from the Renderosity freestuff "dirty brick wall 1" texture set by Rodluc (www.rodluc.com). Thank you for your support and your interest in my work! ======================================================================= You can unzip the ZIP-file to any convenient location on your PC. The file contains four folders: --> The text folder contains this readme and the licence information. --> The obj_files folder contains the following Wavefront object files: arch.mtl arch.obj brokencolumn.mtl brokencolumn.obj brokencolumn2.mtl brokencolumn2.obj decorative_arch.mtl decorative_arch.obj gothicruin.mtl gothicruin.obj wallsegment.mtl wallsegment.obj wallsegment2.mtl wallsegment2.obj NOte: Make sure the .mtl files remain in the same folder as the .obj files, otherwise your target application will not be able to assign materials correctly. --> The vob_files folder contains the following Vue objects: Brokencolumn2_vob.vob Brokencolumn_vob.vob Decorative_arch_vob.vob Gothicruin_vob.vob Wallsegment2_vob.vob Wallsegment_vob.vob arch_vob.vob --> The textures folder contains the following jpeg texture files and materials in Vue Mat-format: columns_mat.mat ground_mat.mat roughwall_jpg.jpg roughwall_mat.mat smoothwall_jpg.jpg smoothwall_mat.mat windowlarge_mat.mat ==================================================================== The obj-files can be imported into any 3d modeling/rendering application that supports this file format (e.g. Cinema 4D, Maya, Lightwave, 3ds Max, etc.). The vob_files will work only in e-on Software`s Vue, version 4 or higher. If you want to use the .mat files to texture the object in Vue 5, you may need to change the mapping settings, as .mats were made in Vue 4 (in particular, you may need to change the image size). The Vue objects however will load in both Vue 4 and Vue 5 with all textures correctly mapped. ==================================================================== To attain the intended look, a maximum smoothing angle of 20° should be applied. ==================================================================== After import, the obj-model contains 5 solid colour materials, the names of which are self-explanaining. Also, the materials 'default' and 'facefrontcolor' may be listed, but these do not appear visibly in the model. If you are prompted for a texturemap file, you can locate it in the textures folder. When applying these jpgs to the obj-model, you will need to set up the correct mapping using your application's texture editor. ====================================================================
