OB'S BELOW-KNEE (BK) PROSTHESES FOR VICTORIA3 - PACK 1 - Readme --------------- So Vicky's been really down since the accident? Perhaps she needs to slip into one of these sexy little black numbers and get out on the town with her girlfriends, she'll soon be dancing on tables again. Package includes 8 (4 left, 4 right) different Below-Knee Prosthetic Legs (conforming .cr2 figures), from simple peg to high-tech composite carbon, all modelled in the careful balance of crisp detail and low polygon-count that you've come to expect from Ob's models. Customize them in a snap with fifteen different MAT pose files to change individual materials. --------------- DETAILED INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Extract the zip-archive with your zip program: - Open WinZip and click the -Extract- button - In the window -Folders/drives-, select the folder that contains your Poser program. (eg. c:\program files\Poser4\ ) - The check box -"Use Folder names"- MUST be marked. That way, all files will placed in the correct path. Please use the default installation paths when installing. This product uses shared geometry and will not function correctly if the paths to component geometry files are changed. Renaming folders will also cause problems if you plan to add "OB’s Prosthetics Expansion Packs" at a later stage, as these use geometry and texture files from the base installation and will not work correctly if those files can’t be found. --------------------- THE FOLLOWING FILES WILL BE INSTALLED: \Runtime\ ObsLegProsthetics1-readme.txt (This file) Licence.txt \Runtime\Geometries\Obstuff\legpros1\ lbkconnector.obj lbkpeg.obj lbksock.obj lbksocket.obj lcarbonfoot.obj lrubberfoot.obj lshinshock.obj lshintube.obj rbkconnector.obj rbkpeg.obj rbksock.obj rbksocket.obj rcarbonfoot.obj rrubberfoot.obj rshinshock.obj rshintube.obj \Runtime\textures\Obstuff\ BK-CF.jpg BK-CFbump.jpg Reflecs2.jpg camoblue.jpg camogrey.jpg camowine.jpg mapBKconnector.gif mapBKpeg.gif mapBKsock.gif mapBKsocket.gif mapCarbonfoot.gif mapRubberfoot.gif mapShinshock.gif mapShintube.gif socktex.jpg stars.jpg \Runtime\libraries\Pose\MAT Obstuff\ MAT Alumin BLUE.pz2 MAT Alumin BLUE.rsr MAT Alumin GOLD.pz2 MAT Alumin GOLD.rsr MAT Alumin PINK.pz2 MAT Alumin PINK.rsr MAT Alumin RED.pz2 MAT Alumin RED.rsr MAT Alumin SILV.pz2 MAT Alumin SILV.rsr MATcarbonBum OFF.pz2 MATcarbonBum OFF.rsr MATcarbonBum ON.pz2 MATcarbonBum ON.rsr MATcarbonBum_ON.pz2 MATcarbonBum_ON.rsr MATsocketBum OFF.pz2 MATsocketBum OFF.rsr MATsocketBum ON.pz2 MATsocketBum ON.rsr MATsocketBum_ON.pz2 MATsocketBum_ON.rsr MAT SocketCamoBL.pz2 MAT SocketCamoBL.rsr MAT SocketCamoGR.pz2 MAT SocketCamoGR.rsr MAT SocketCamoWi.pz2 MAT SocketCamoWi.rsr MAT SocketCarbon.pz2 MAT SocketCarbon.rsr MAT SocketSkintone.pz2 MAT SocketSkintone.rsr MAT SocketStars.pz2 MAT SocketStars.rsr \Runtime\libraries\character\Obstuff\ LBK Carbon Foot.cr2 LBK Carbon Foot.rsr LBK Liner + Sock.cr2 LBK Liner + Sock.rsr LBK Peg Leg.cr2 LBK Peg Leg.rsr LBK Pylon Leg.cr2 LBK Pylon Leg.rsr LBK Shock Leg.cr2 LBK Shock Leg.rsr RBK Carbon Foot.cr2 RBK Carbon Foot.rsr RBK Liner + Sock.cr2 RBK Liner + Sock.rsr RBK Peg Leg.cr2 RBK Peg Leg.rsr RBK Pylon Leg.cr2 RBK Pylon Leg.rsr RBK Shock Leg.cr2 RBK Shock Leg.rsr \Runtime\libraries\props\Obstuff\ Thigh Bulge Mags L.pp2 Thigh Bulge Mags L.rsr Thigh Bulge Mags R .rsr Thigh Bulge Mags R.pp2 ------------------ The naming convention is as used for real prosthetics: LBK = Left Below Knee RBK = Right Below Knee THIS PACK COMPRISES 3 MAIN PARTS: 1. The left and right LINERS simulating the silicone suspension liner with attached locking pin and the cotton stump sock (in reality a locking mechanism in the prosthetic leg grips the pin - that's what keeps the leg on). These are conforming figures that inherit the bends of Victoria's knee when her shin is moved. A Kneefix Morph is provided to deform the stump sock at the knee and prevent it from showing through the prosthetic socket as the knee bends. Apply the morph as required after posing the figure. 2. MAGNETS to shape Victoria's thighs to fit into the Liners. One magnet shrinks the knee to hide it inside the stump sock, another causes the thigh to bulge above the top edge of the silicone liner. The magnets are all hidden from view by default but can be accessed via the Hierarchy Editor. The Liners were designed for use without any body morphs applied to the parent figure. You may need to make adjustments to the Mag 1 and Mag 2 dials on her thighs if applying a body morph or a particular pose causes the thighs to show through the silicone liners. 3. The range of PROSTHETIC LEGS themselves, each a conforming Figure. Movement of the prosthetic leg is by selecting and bending Victoria's own shin (this will be hidden, it can usually be selected by clicking just in front of the prosthetic leg), the props follow the movement of Victoria's shin. Three foot morphs are provided on the 'realistic' rubber foot to allow Victoria to wear fashion shoes: - A HiHeel morph, a Petit morph which narrows the foot slightly, and a HideToe morph which prevents show-through in closed shoes. ------------------------------ HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT: Load the parent figure (Victoria 3) and turn off inverse kinematics (IK) for both legs. Apply the Thigh Bulge Magnets from the Props>Obstuff palette Victoria's shin, foot and toe must be hidden from view. Do this using the heirarchy editor (or by clicking on each part in the scene to select it and un-checking "visible" in the "object>properties" menu). Load the liner/sock figure for the leg from the Character>Obstuff palette and while it is still selected go to the "figure>conform to.." menu and pick Victoria as the parent figure from the pop-up list. Load a suitable prosthetic leg from the Character>Obstuff palette and while it is still selected go to the "figure>conform to.." menu and pick Victoria as the parent figure from the pop-up list. The prosthetic leg will follow the movements of Victoria's (hidden) Shin. ---------------------------- SHOES Conforming shoe figures (particularly those having 2 shoes as 1 figure) should be conformed to the parent figure (Victoria 3) rather than to the prosthetic leg. Set the 'twist', 'side-side' and 'bend' dials of Victoria's foot and toe to zero (in the case of flat shoes) or pose her foot and toe to suit the shoe if required (eg: high heeled shoes). Now lock her foot and toe (menu>object>lock actor) to prevent the foot from moving when poses are applied to the figure. This should, in turn, prevent the shoe from moving off the prosthetic foot. --------------------------- TEXTURE MAPPING All the carbon-fibre on all the components is mapped to share one image (BK-CF.jpg). If you wish to add text or logo's to a particular part (such as decals on the race legs) you may have to make a unique copy of the carbon texture for that part or the logo will appear in unwanted places across other components and may appear reversed on the opposite leg. A texture map template is provided for each separate geometry file, left and right share the same map and small components are arranged on the map such that several parts can share a single map. BUMP MAPS This product includes 2 versions of MAT pose files for application of bumps to the 'socket' and 'carbon' materials. In theory, ProPack and later users should use the 'PP' Mat pose files (PP MATsocketBum ON, and PP MATcarbonBum ON) as these will apply the BK-CK.jpg carbon texture image as a bump map. Poser 4 users should use the included 'P4' MAT pose files (P4 MATsocketBum_ON, and P4 MATcarbonBum_ON) as these apply a dedicated bump map image instead (BK-CFbump.jpg). Note that if a bump map is applied by means of a MAT pose file it is not necessary for poser to convert it to a .bum file first, as is the case if it is applied manually. In practice, you should try applying both the PP and P4 bumps because they both work in Poser 4 and yet give quite different results. There, aren't you glad you read all this? -------------- USAGE RIGHTS See License.txt in this package. -------------- OWNERSHIP STATEMENT: All of this products content was created by Ob. -------------- NEEDED FILES LIST AND SYSTEM REQUIRED: This product requires Poser 4 or later and the DAZ Victoria 3 figure. Victoria 3's body morph pack is not required. It was made for Poser4 on a PC, it has not been tested in Poser5 or Poser 6. Please note that the 'geometry smoothing' option in Poser 5's rendering settings may cause unexpected results, try turning that option off if necessary. All paths are suitable for use on a Mac. ---------------- Author: Ob Author E-mail: obm890@yahoo.com Product Date: 25-mar-2005 Product Copyright: Ob --------------
