It takes an alternative approach to colour-modification effects by generating random combinations of many hidden variables to produce unusual and unpredictable results. This is not aimed at users who require precise editing features due to the random nature of the filter, but for those who enjoy using experimental techniques in their work then it can prove a very handy tool. The controls may seem a bit confusing to begin with so it may take a while for you to get the hang of Alienator ... but that's half the fun! You can randomize the settings automatically using the animate feature, or manually with the various single-click buttons if you prefer. There is also a "Tweak" mode which allows you to modify some of the more basic editing sliders manually for greater overall control over the final effect. Feature Overview ... * Large dialog/preview with clear easy-to-use layout * Hidden variables allow many different combinations * Animated randomizing feature with variable speed * Manual randomizing controls allow further changes * Single undo for return to previous setting * Tweak mode with access to slider controls * Reset button to quickly return default values * Save and load your favourite effect presets * Zoom buttons with common percentages * 100 example preset files included to get you started Random Buttons ... * Start/Stop : Animated generation feature * Regenerate : Manually randomize ALL values * R : Semi-randomizers for partial effects * + (plus) : Randomize selected values only * - (minus) : Reset selected values to default * Reset All : Restore ALL default settings Other Controls ... * Speed : Adjust the speed of the animated preview * LURP : Last-Used-Random-Preset (undo feature) * Modes : Switch between Random and Tweak Slider Controls (Tweak Mode) ... * Exchange : Various colour-swapping modes * Brightness : Make the overall image lighter/darker * Contrast : Higher or lower the overall contrast * Saturation : Increase or decrease intensity * RGB Balance : Modify the overall colour balance * RGB Flood : For more intense colour changes Compatible Image Modes ... * RGB 8 bit mode (24 bit images) * RGB 16 bit mode (48 bit images) STATEMENT OF OWNERSHIP All of this product's content was created by Cybia ZIP FILE CONTENTS Readme.txt - This text file License.txt - Important info regarding product use Alienator.8bf - Plug-in filter [AlienatorPresets] Folder ... *.atr - 100 settings for use with the Alienator filter [AlienatorGuide] Folder ... *.htm - Text for quick reference guide *.jpg - Images for above pages LICENSE AGREEMENT Please read the License.txt file provided for more information All resources are Copyright © S.W.Upham 2005 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS (PC) Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP Photoshop-compatible host application * Please note that not all graphics programs are 100% compatible with plug-in filters.
