The Homestead Prop Set features multiple structures, a sculpted landscape, low-poly trees, fence sections and the furnishings, fixtures and equipment from the era. You get an authentically modeled rustic house complete with furnishings, an outhouse and wood/coal shed with separate rotating doors & a spacious landscape to place the structures. The Homestead also features a separate roof prop to make it easier to set up scenes inside the house. Use whichever PZ3 file that makes sense for your scene. Everything comes as Poser Ready props that can be loaded from the sidebar menu or for even easier use - just load one of the included PZ3 files which has a default lighting and camera scheme. The set also includes 13 camera presets and 3 light presets for easy scene creation. All of the prop's elements are completely modular and can be used separately or with other sets for maximum use and enjoyment. The Homestead Set set comes with high resolution textures that will well support large renders or extreme close-up shots. ============================================================================= Notes: =============================================================================== WARNING!!! -> I usually disable the shadow casting ability of the building structures to make it easier to light any given scene but because this set serves equally well as an exterior set I chose to leave it on for all the structures. I would recommend turning off the shadow casting ability of the house and roof props if you are having trouble getting the light presets to work for your interior scenes. You can do this by selecting the props and going to Object - Properties from the Poser menu and clicking off the Cast Shadows checkbox. =============================================================================== IMPORTANT: BUMP MAPS: No BUM files were provided to keep the archive file size down. Standard Poser 4 users will have to load in the H_DECK2B.jpg and H_PWALLB.jpg files to create a BUM file. These bump maps are used to add bumping to the Deck and Plank Wall textures. Two versions of the Building props are included here as well different sets of PZ3 files - one version is for Poser 4 and ProPack users and the other version is for Poser 5-6 users. This was done to ensure the proper use of the bump maps for the Plank Wall and Deck Wood materials. You should only install the prop sets and PZ3 files you need for the version of Poser that you are using :) =============================================================================== All of the doors have their joint parameters adjusted to swing open from the hinges with a normal Y-Rotation. There are no limits to the swing however and you should be careful to control the final position of the door being opened. All lighting schemes use 4 infinite lights with only light (Main) having the ability to create shadows and the other three providing fill and accent lighting. Usually all that will be needed to light most scenes is to Y-Rotate the Main light. The lighting presets were provided to give a general illumination of this set. They should be adequate for most scenes but I highly recommend adjusting them for any specific scenes you may create if you choose to use them. The textures were chosen to provide the best look to the scene. You can easily change the look of the elements by changing the appropriate textures/colors in the Material Dialog Box in Poser. *** Note: I find it easier to change Poser's display mode to Cartoon w/Lines or Outline mode when positioning the tree models because they are invisible in any of the shaded or texture display modes. =============================================================================== You will need Poser 4/5/6 or later with the latest patches or Pro Pack to use these props. =============================================================================== To install: Unzip the archive (Homestead.zip) to the root folder wherever you installed Poser: (i.e., C:\Program Files\Curious Lans\Poser 4).
