CartesiusCreations 'Medieval Curule' © Anders Kjellberg December 2005 All of this product's content was created by Cartesius (Anders Kjellberg). --------------------- Thanks for purchasing Cartesius' 'Medieval Curule'! 'Medieval Curule' is a static model of a curule chair. This type of chair dates back to the ancient Romans and the design is so sturdy and attractive it's still with us today. The 'Medieval Curule' comes with 1 color texture map for the wooden frame and 1 for the leather seat. This chair will definitely be a good addition to any scene requiring furniture with an ancient touch! Please note that this prop is static, ie. it's not poseable. --------------------- Installation: Run the zip extractor into your Poser directory (DO NOT unzip the archive to the Poser Runtime directory, or the files will not show up in Poser's library palettes). 'Medieval Curule' will now be available in Props > CartesiusFurniture. --------------------- Poser 4 users: If you are using Poser 4 you will need to convert the "_B.jpg" files to bump maps BEFORE adding the figure to the scene! Here's how to do it: 1) Go to the Materials Editor (Render > Materials). 2) Select the Ground. 3) Click the "Load..." button next to the "Bump Map" and browse for the "_B.jpg" files. Poser will then convert it. 4) Click the Cancel button when done (this will cancel the material change, but not undo the conversion). Poser will save the BUM file to the same folder as the jpg file (to be used later) and will also retain the bump map in memory (to be used now). 5) Go to the Props > CartesiusFurniture and add the chair to your scene. --------------------- 'Medieval Curule' contains: 1 obj-file 1 Poser prop (PP2) 1 1024x1024 color texture 1 1024x1024 bump texture 1 1024x1024 UV-template 1 2048x2048 color texture 1 2048x2048 bump texture 1 2048x2048 UV-template --------------------- For use in your favorite 3D application: The basic fileformat is *.obj which means that it's widely accepted in most 3D applications, not only Poser - simply import the *.obj file into your preferred 3D modelling application and re-assign the textures if necessary. You might have to scale the model once it's imported. --------------------- The color maps for 'Medieval Curule' are 1024 x 1024 and 2048 x 2048, and comes with corresponding bump maps. The chair is modeled with CINEMA 4D R9.5 and exported as Wavefront *.obj using the Riptide plugin. The chair is completely UV-mapped with BodyPaint 3D R2.5 and comes with UV-templates so you can create your own textures. The naming of the texture and bump maps are pretty straight forward, with the name of the model it belongs to first then finally if it's a color or a bump map. For example: curule_seat_B.jpg - Bump map for 'Medieval Curule' curule_seat_C.jpg - Color map for 'Medieval Curule' It should be very easy to understand once you see the actual files :) --------------------- Macintosh users: If you are using Poser 4 or ProPack you might need MacConverter to convert *.rsr files to a Macintosh compatible resource. MacConverter is available from http://www.soft-rabbit.com. --------------------- Exact list of all files included in this pack: License.txt Curule_ReadMe.txt Curule_thumb.jpg \Runtime\textures\cartesius\ curule_seat_B.jpg curule_seat_C.jpg curule_seat_UV.jpg curule_wood_B.jpg curule_wood_C.jpg curule_wood_UV.jpg \Runtime\libraries\Props\CartesiusFurniture\ Curule Chair.png Curule Chair.pp2 Curule Chair.rsr \Runtime\geometries\cartesius\ curule_chair.obj --------------------- System Requirements: Poser 4 (Mac/Windows) and higher, or any application that can import the Wavefront *.obj file format --------------------- Have fun and don't hesitate to contact me if you need any help!
