--------------------------------------------- Needed Files: None! --------------------------------------------- To Install: Unzip to Poser Directory. If you are updating PoseMagic from previous version, you can safely delete all pre-existing copies. --------------------------------------------- Folder Names and Locations: \Runtime\libraries\props\PoseMagic\ \Runtime\libraries\Pose\PoseMagic\ \Runtime\libraries\Pose\PM-P4PPUtility-Fig3\ \Runtime\libraries\Pose\PM-P4PPUtility-Fig2\ \Runtime\libraries\Pose\PM-P4PPUtility-Fig1\ --------------------------------------------- Step 1 1. Load any poser character with standard body part names 1a. Optional: To take advantage of PoseMagic's ability to influence Facial Expressions and certain motion-inspired body morphs, you must inject those morphs into the figure else the dials will do nothing. 2. Optional but recommended: Turn Off IK and use Joint Editor to Zero Figure. Ctrl-D to drop figure to floor. --------------------------------------------- Step 2 1. In Libraries, go to props folder, then to PoseMagic Folder and load the prop. (Make sure the figure you wish to apply to is selected.) There are 3 PoseMagicProps, so if you are working on the first or only figure in a scene choose "First_Figure_PoseMagic" 2. In Pose Folder, PoseMagic subfolder, apply the "PoseMagic" pz2. (Again, Note First, Second or Third Figure respectively.) 3. If you are using a male character with Daz M3 Genitals attached, select the genital figure and apply "M3-Genital-Support" pose. (Note, this is still considered First Figure.) 3. Call up PoseMagic parameter list. From Poser's Drop-Down menu, with Figure of choice selected, go to Props then PoseMagic. --------------------------------------------- You are ready to go. In Poser 4 or Pro Pack, you will have a massive list of parameters to pose your figure. You may find that the list is too massive. Proceed to PM-P4PPUtility Pose folder (of respective figure) and click "HideAllElements". The dials disappear! That's okay, turn on the sections you want to work with. When you are done working with them, click "HideAllElements" again and then choose other areas in turn. In Poser 5 and 6, you're good to go. You have a well-organized tree of sections to expand and collapse as you go through your workflow. You may wish to start with the Multi-grouped parameters to get some fast results. In this area you will find controls that affect multiple groups at the same time for ease and smoothness of posing. For example, the "Torso" controls affect Collars (to some degree) chest and abs. Furl Controls draw up limbs in a natural way. BendAtWaist and Crouch controls do their best to keep the figure in place which is very helpful for animation. If you absolutely need the figure to remain still, it is still (unfortunately) best to work with wacky IK. (Please excuse the editorializing.) PoseMagic now has controls to work within the chaos of IK, so no need to leave that dial! Each Body Part also has it's own individual controls under their respective group. This package contains all the functionality of "GraspThis!" package. ----------------------------------------------- Customize your Expressions with PoseMagic! Included on PoseMagic are 10 expression dials called "EXPFull" under the Expressions/full expressions group. These are blank channels and here's what you can do with them. Say you get a nice expression going and it takes a million dials to get there. You want to save it and be able to call it up whenever you like. Easy. First, if you have a custom character morph on your figure's head, turn it off and get back to default figure head/neck/eyes. Now, spawn a morph target for each part the morph covers and name it "EXPFull1" just like that, matching the PoseMagic parameter dial. Next, turn your character morph back on or reapply it's pose. Under the head and neck/eyes if they are affected, click on the new morph "EXPFull1" and rename it to whatever works for you. Do the same thing on PoseMagic interface. Finally, reapply "PoseMagic" pose to reinject all the code and magically, your new expression will work from PoseMagic. ------------------------------------------------------ Finally, eye controls are included as well as the ability to move the figure around without leaving the dial via the hip controls. Hip Controls also work with IK on in conjuction with the IK-Only section of parameters. Want to start over? Just apply the ZeroOut.pz2 and start anew. Alternately, you can just click ctrl-e. Added December 28th, 2005--Update 1 Standard Facial Expressions for Millenial figures Things that I decided that were missing and that came up as handy to me...too numerous to mention Multiple Sets! Yep, use Pose Magic with more than 1 figure per scene. I've given you 3. When adding Pose Magic to a second or third figure, please make sure that figure is selected or bad times will ensue. Added January 9th, 2006 - More Split Controls. IK Only controls Aiko-Hiro expressions Better Millenial Expression compatibility between existing figures, including Laura, David, Stephanie, Mike3, Freaks etc. P4 PP organization tools for those who live without Group Trees. All Phoenomes. Added glute and bicep flex and raise parameters for ultimate realism when posing. Completely cleaned files for the deep-editor types who may want to customize their own rig or just see how it all works. JCM adjustment parameters: when clothes and people just don't communicate well together, or for extra effect when posing. M3 Genital Support. Not much to it, really but it's there. Custom Expression parameters. Empty until user defined. ---------------------------------------------- Usage Tips: Use your favorite pose files in conjunction with PoseMagic for ultimate flexibility and tweaking control. Poses do not save as normal. The solution is to save the PoseMagic prop into a seperate prop folder with the name of the pose. It is a small file. In order to use the saved pose prop, simply delete the current PoseMagic prop and replace it with one that is already pre-set that you've saved. You may need to reapply the PoseMagic pz2. Desparaged? Don't be! Dizzi has made a Java utility to covert PoseMagic information into normal Poser pz2s. The utility runs on Mac or Windows and is available for a small fee in the Marketplace. (Note: utility is still in Beta at this writing and while in Beta is freely available.) I won't list all of the features of this remarkable tool here, but suffice to say it does everything you might want. It works with a saved PZ3, with as many frames and figures as you might want. I have noticed on my system, but have not heard anyone else complain of this phoenom, sometimes Poser forgets what some dials are supposed to do. In these situations, rare as they are, solutions are: Reapply PoseMagic injection pose. If that doesn't work: Restart Poser If that doesn't work: Delete PoseMagic Prop from scene and reload If that doesn't work: Reinstall PoseMagic from zip One of those things will get it, usually the first. I don't know what poser is doing, except it must be memory related and a bug within poser itself. Finally, thank you all so very much for all your enthusiam, feedback and support for this product. You've all made me very proud and given me a great sense of accomplishment in revolutionizing the way we all use Poser. It's huge, life-affirming and the sort of thing I have never previously experienced. -Greg Boycott aka William_the_Bloody
