COPYRIGHT: fireAS, Copyright Gabriel Marti Blanco ฉ2006, 2007 all rights reserved ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHAT IS FIREAS? fireAS (c) is an easy way to create 3D fire-flames for Poserฎ. • It's a true 3D mesh figure with bones, morphs, material and it's own light - no more flat 2D flames. • Basic material that can be upgraded or set by you. • A Python script (fireAS version 2 and 3 only) to help you create the fire-flames. Allows you to set many options before creating the fire-flames: (how many and size of fire-flames, the color and reach of lights etc). • Register by sending an e-mail to gabriel@animastudio.com.br and you'll receive information on future upgrades. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT CREATION: All of this product's content was created by Gabriel Marti Blanco. Gabriel Marti Blanco ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ USER GUIDE: This is an abstract of the user Guide. Please read fireAS3guide (pdf or doc). It can be found on the zip file under \Runtime\ or after install, under \Poser #\Runtime\ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT: Content of fireAS (c) version 3 pack: fireAS comes on a zip file that contains: • under Runtime\Python\poserScripts\_fireAS - fireASv3.py - Python script to add fireflame figures with their own lights; - fireASv35.pyc - Python compiled script to add fireflame figures with their own lights, works on Poser 5 and 6; - fireASv37.pyc - Python compiled script to add fireflame figures with their own lights, works on Poser 7; - fireASv2.obj - the fire object; - fireASv2.AS4 - figure object with image map material; - fireASv2.AS5 - figure object with node material; - fireAScolor.jpg - material color image; - fireASv2Template.bmp - template to make your own material color. • under Runtime\libraries\character\_fireAS - !fireASHELP.cr2 - a simple square figure that reminds you how to create fireflames with the Python script. - !fireASHELP.png - the icon of that figure. - _fireASHELP.obj - the square obj of that figure; - miniHelp.jpg - the texture of that figure with a mini help text; • under Runtime: - fireAS3guide.pdf - user guide in Adobe Acrobatฎ format; - fireAS3guide.doc - user guide in Microsoft Wordฎ format. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NEEDS: Needs Poser 5 or Poser 6. Has different functionality for each version. PC compatible. Not tested on Mac yet. If you want to try it on Mac, talk to me first! To use fireAS on Poser 4 or 4 Pro Pack, ask for fireAS version 1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INSTALL: (PC ONLY) >>> Install instructions for "Poser 5" or "Poser 6" or "Poser 7" users: <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< To use fireAS on Poser 4 or 4 Pro Pack, ask for fireAS version 1.0 • Agree that you are a licensee of this pack (fireAS) and will NOT sell, distribute, give or allow that someone takes it. fireAS is copyrighted, read the license agreement "license.txt" after all. • Unzip or explore the pack _fireASv3.zip • copy the unzipped "Runtime" directory directly to your "Poser 6" or "Poser 5" or "Poser 7" directory (it MUST be placed there to work) How? click (select) the unzipped "Runtime" folder, drag it to your "Poser 7" or "Poser 6" or "Poser 5" directory and drop it. A window will pop asking to overwrite the files and directories - select "yes to all". There is no risk of overwriting any file because the content is all new, no existent file will be overwrited unless you have a "_fireAS" directory. • That's it. You're done. • It's very important to read the user Guide (fireAS3guide.pdf or fireAS3guide.doc they are the same) located at ..\Poser #\Runtime\ - if you want, you can move ONLY this (guide) files to another place. The user Guide has many tips you will find very useful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HOW TO USE: >>> Using fireAS on "Poser 5" or "Poser 6" or "Poser 7": <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< • To use fireAS: start Poserฎ, select "File", select "Run Python Script", browse to "Poser #\Runtime\Python\poserScripts\_fireAS" select fireASv3.py (or fireASv35.pyc on Poser 5 or 6) (or fireasv37.pyc on Poser 7) and hit "Enter". A window with many options will open. The default is to create one fire, 2.5 centimeters (1 inch) tall, casting light at an 1 meter (40 inches) radius. This light will fade-off continuously until it reaches that border. • You can set this options (on the Python window): 1) color and intensity of the light (Red, Green, Blue and Intensity), you can see the resulting color in a box above the sliders; 2) Light Fade-off (Poser calls it "Dist End") is the distance that the light will reach (cm or in). 3) Fire height or how tall is the fireflame (centimeters or inches). 4) How many fires to place in the scene (Number of fires - They will be placed with the same settings - and in the SAME PLACE). 5) "Reset all" button - moves the sliders to the default set. 6) "Cancel" button - closes the window and stops the Python script. No new fire will be placed. 7) "GO" buttons - creates the fireflame(s) and places them in the stage. After hitting GO, wait until a window pops telling you it's done!. If you're running Poser 5, you can choose from two GO buttons: - "GO P5 (best - node mat)" will use 2 Spot lights and node Material. - "GO P5 (image mat)" will use 2 Spot lights and a color bitmap as Material. Anything else is the same. If you're running Poser 6 or 7, you can choose from tree GO buttons: - "GO P6+ (best)" will use 1 Point light and node Material. - "GO P5 (node mat)" will use 2 Spot lights and the same node Material. - "GO P5 (image mat)" will use 2 Spot lights and a color bitmap as Material. 8) After hitting go, wait until a window pops telling you it's done. Close this window, you will see your fire-flames on the stage. They will be exactly in the same place so, probably you'll "see" only one of them, but all them will be there. • After creating the fire-flames, you can: 9) To MOVE, SCALE, SIDE-SIDE or BEND all the fireflame, select the BODY of FireAS. 10) To shake the light on your animations, select the "Body parts" + "LightsControl", you can twist, side-side or bend the light(s). 11) To modify the shape of the fireflame, you can use the included 19 Morphs. Select "Body parts" + "fireAS" and set the morphs. Modify your morph settings along your animation to make the fire "alive". Many morphs can be set to positive or negative values (to reverse de effect). You can set values greater than 1 but the morphs were designed to work from 0.0 to 1.0 (many from 0.0 to -1.0 too). The 19 morphs are: • Long (+taller or -shorter); • Side, Side2 and Side3 (tree kind of bending to the +right or -left); • Front, Front2 (two kind of bending to +front or -back); • Sparks 1 to 4 (four kind of deformation of the top creating sparks to +out -in); • Sparks 5a and 5b (side spark, only positive values are recommended); • Wide (to make the fire +fat or -thin); • WideLine1 and 2 (makes de fire wider only in the x axis = linear fire. Only positive values are recommended); • WideLineTop (only the top will be wider in the x axis. Positive or negative values); • InnerWideTop (only the inner part of the fire - the small "egg" part - will become wider at the top, + or -); • Toon (deformation to make a toon fire - works with positive values); 12) You can also Twist, Bend or Side-Side the TOP of your fireflame by selecting "Body parts" and "deform". 13) Turn off any previous lights you don't really need! Turn off the Poser default lights or delete them! 14) The lights have the same name of the fireflame figure they belong. So "fireAS 1_PointLight" belongs to "fireAS 1" (first flame) and "fireAS 3_FromTop" belongs to "fireAS 3" (third flame). It's easy to identify. 15) The lights of the fireflames are set to "Depth map shadows", if you want you can set them to "Ray Trace shadows". Depth map shadows ARE visible in Raytracing so you don't need to modify this setting, but you can. 16) The color of the light do NOT change the color of the fireflame! Only the objects that receive the light will be effected! To change the color of the fireflame you must deal with the fireAS materials. The fireAS figure has 3 materials: inner, outer and glow. From the preview wireframe you will see tree "eggs" one inside the other. The small one is the inner, the medium is the outer and the bigger is the glow. Inner is the dark inner part of flame. Outer is the most visible orange/yellow part of flame. Glow is the most transparent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ QUESTIONS?
