************************************************************ *Product Name: "Pappys FULL SIZED SHAWL" ***NOTE***The SHAWL IS DYNAMIC CLOTH for the Poser CLOTH ROOM. IT IS NOT A "CONFORMING OBJECT". YOU NEED TO USE THE CLOTH ROOM TO FIT FOR POSES. ****BASIC CLOTH ROOM TUTORIAL INCLUDED BELOW.**** *Copyright September, 18, 2006 *By: Pappy411 *********************************************************** -------------------------------------- System Requirements: PC & Mac Poser 5 and above -------------------------------------- Ownership Statement: All of this product's content was created by Pappy411 -------------------------------------- Needed Files: DAZ Victoria, Poser5 and above human figures -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: PC Poser5 and 6 users need only to unzip the files into the "Poser" folder. You will find the Shawl in \runtime\libraries\props\Dynamic Clothing\Pappys Shawl_1F\ MAC users should place files in respective folders. ***NOTE***The shawl was created for V3 wearing "Pappy's V3 Combo" robe (sold seperately in Renderosity's Pappy411 store http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?vendor=92372 The dynamic cloth object will snap to this configuration and fit properly. However, the shall can be used on most human Poser5 and up figures as well as 3rd party human figures made for Poser. They should snap to the figure in ZERO pose and only a minimum of tweaking with the Poser sizing dials. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: There is no limitation on usage for rendering. However, you may not sell or distribute the geometry files either physically or electronically to another party or parties or claim them as your own. POSER CLOTH ROOM TUTORIAL: Does the Poser Cloth Room Scare you with all those dials and numbers? Well! Don't let that monster get the best of you. You can get started with this tutorial and learn the basics for DYNAMIC CLOTH in no time. Before we get started, one rule to remember. DON'T CHANGE ANY NUMBER OR DIAL THAT IS NOT IN THIS TUTORIAL. Remember this rule and you will learn the basics, and later when you feel comfortable, you can experiment. LET'S GET STARTED. TO APPLY THE SHAWLS, first load your V3 figure (or any Poser human figure). Make sure your figure is selected. Go to "Figure-Use Inverse Kinetics" and uncheck "Left and Right Leg. Next go to "Windows-Joint Editor" and click on "Zero Figure" (Make sure your figure is seslected first) and finally, "Figure/Drop to floor". Next load the SHAWL "Props-Dynamic Clothing". TheSHAWL should snap to the Figure. If you do not turn off inverse kinetics and zero pose (for non-V3 figures) the figure, parts of the body will show through. The HeadCovers will fit most figures with a minimum of tweaking after loading. For Poser6 and Daz figures, follow the same procedure with inverse kinetics, and zero pose,(in that order) before loading the SHAWL. There possibly will be some slight protrusion of body parts that can be adusted by using the "Scale-Rotate and Trans" dials ever so slightly. Next set up your figure pose at 30-60-90 or more frame. For complex poses the more frames and draping frames the better for a smooth transition. Next go to the "Cloth Room" and set up your Dynamic Cloth to fit the pose. After you prep the figure and load the DYNAMIC CLOTH as mentioned above, it is time to enter the POSER CLOTH ROOM. Now is a good time to mention that if you have more than one dynamic cloth object for cloth room such as a robe, belt, and head covering, ( hair included) move all but the first object closest to the body figure away from the figure or delete them until it is time to have the cloth room fit them. They may interfere with the proper fitting and cause distortion to the cloth object. YOU CAN ONLY DO ONE OBJECT AT A TIME. For this tutorial we will start with ONLY the SHAWL object on the figure at frame 1. Hopefully you have your final pose set up at frame 30-60 or more if it is an extreme pose like sitting, laying, etc. For extreme poses, the more frames before the final pose is best to get the optimum fit. Make sure your dynamic cloth is selected. Click on "NEW SELECTION" upper left in the CLOTH ROOM. The "SIMULATIONS SETTINGS" pop-up will appear. After "Simulation Name" enter "SHAWL". "Start Frame" leave at 1. "End Frame", put in the number of your final pose frame. NOTE: It is a good idea to add a few frames after your final pose frame to let the cloth settle more. Check "Cloth Self Collision" and in "Drape Frames" enter 3. (The HeadCover object is already pretty well draped so we can use a small number here.) Click "OK" and you will see "SHAWL" after 1.Cloth Simulation in the upper left. Now go to 2. CLOTH and click on "CLOTHIFY". The "Clothify" pop-Up will Appear. Again, make sure your CLOTH object is selected. Click on "Clothify" and you will see the left side dials come alive. Now click on "Collide Against". In the Pop-Up click on "Add/Remove". Make sure ALL boxes are unchecked, then click on "Figure1", (or V3, Judy, Jesse, or whatever you named the figure.) You will notice all of the figures boxes will automatically be checked. Make sure "Start draping from Zero Pose box is checked and click on "OK". WE ARE ALMOST READY TO WORK THE MAGIC OF THE CLOTH ROOM. One last little important detail. The "Constrained Group". Again, Make sure your Cloth Object,, is selected. Click on "Constrained Group". All will turn black in the preview window. Don't Panic. You will notice the "GROUP EDITOR" Pop-Up has appeared. Make sure the "+" sign is selected and "Constrained" is in the window below the "+" sign. Move your cursor over the NECK area of the Cloth Object and press the mouse button About midway on SIDE of the Neck once and draw a SMALL square so only one or two red dots appear on left side and then right side. The red dots will anchor your CLOTH OBJECT to the NECK so it doesn't slide off during the session. Close the window and you will see the objects in the window will return to normal. NOW WE ARE READY TO LET THE MAGIC OF THE CLOTH ROOM DO IT'S STUFF. In the upper right corner, click on "Calculate Simulation". A pop_Up will appear showing the progress of your robe or Dynamic Cloth Object which you can see changing in the window. The time it will take to complete the session depends on your PROCESSOR and available RAM. The more power the faster to completion. Don't touch anything and let it complete the session. Hopefully you have good results and now you know the BASICS. From here on in you can experiment but most of the time the above settings will suffice.
