This hair fits Vicky 3, Aiko 3, Steph3, Jessi, The Girl and Koshini. There is a Template (for creating your own textures) in Runtime\textures\Hmann-Textures\Templates. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installing "Golden-Age" Hair Pack Simply unzip the downloaded "Golden-Age" Hair Pack and locate the runtime folder in it, then drag and drop it into the open Poser folder ( you should be able to see the "Runtime" folder in your open Poser directory). Windows will now say "There is already a folder called runtime etc...do you want to replace?" etc.. Say "Yes to all", thats it...it is now installed. Mac users dont use this procedure, you will need to use stuffit to unzip the files and drop the downloaded runtime nested folders contents into the appropriate directories within Poser. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- APPLYING THE HAIR Fire up your Poser application. Insert Vicky 3 or another compatible figure into your Poser scene and make sure that figure is selected. Now go to "Hair\Golden-Age-Hair" and apply the hair prop to your Poser figure in the same way you apply any other Hair prop. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TEXTURES To change textures go to "Poses\ Golden-Age-Hair" and you are ready to apply one of the MAT files to the hair. First make sure you have the Hair selected in your Poser, Daz Studio scene. Now the MAT files are very easy to use, there are 3 categories SETUP, MATS and SHAPES. SETUP If you want a full style with textures the first thing is to apply one of the "SETUP" MAT files to make the hair visible. To do this you will need to use the ! MORPH-SETUP1 to 3-MAT's, generally ! MORPH-SETUP1-MAT would be the best because the hair is multicolored and you can see if the underneath layers are pushing thru the upper layers and so on. However sometimes you may need to just see the inner layers, and to do this use ! SHOW-INNER+1 to SHOW-INNER+FLYS-MAT. Then when you have seen how the inner parts look you can use MORPH-SETUP1-MAT again and continue shaping your hair. Its important to note at this point that these SETUP files are the most useful when you are actually shaping the hair yourself by dialing in the morph dials. Once you have a style you like then you can next go to the MAT files below. MAT FILES Each MAT file is a hand created hybrid that uses a smaller version of MAT file than the usual bloated Poser 5 and 6 files. These files work in Poser 4, 5 and 6, most Poser 4 style MAT files dont use the ambient channel in the Poser 5 and 6 shader trees, these do...and that is very inportant for hair. They are very easy to use, each MAT file is a complete texture, that is they apply textures to the complete hair and all layers. So all you do is apply them and do a quick render to see if that texture gives the hair the look you are after. The textures are of 3 main types Blonde, Auburn and Black and variations of those main categories such as different hues of the color plus fuller textures (which means the flys use denser trans maps) and so on. The last 2 icons in the MAT files turn off the Halo (the outflys) and the main flys, this gives the hair a less blown look and therefore a smoother appearance. SHAPES Apart from the top icon in this section "-1ALL-RESET" which resets all the morphs to zero, the 20 icons in the "SHAPES" section of the MAT files apply different shhapes or styles to the hair, each shape gives a stylish variation to the basic hair shape. So these are instant styles, but dont affect the textures. The best way to use these is to first apply the ! MORPH-SETUP1-MAT icon (3rd from the top) so you can see the hair clearly and then apply the shape you like and if you need to you can use the morph dials to fine tune it, and then apply one of the MAT files to the hair and do a quick render to see if you like it, thats it....its a very simple hair to use and you can create endless variations using these 3 categories in the order I explained. 20 shapes times 30 MAT files means 600 instant variations to the look and style of the hair and thats not counting the morph dials which we will explain next. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MORPHS Please note that Vicky was used as the default model, so when applying the hair morphs to other figures (such as the Girl) there may be a little tweaking to get the perfect morph, there are plenty of dials for that purpose. Now the morphs are in categories to make it easy to find what you are after. FIT This the section for fitting the hair to the different Daz and Poser figures available. Simply dial the dial fully clockwise so the hair will fit the model you want (it will stop at 1.000). Leave all other FIT dials to 0.000 (zero), so dial in 1.000 in the Fit-Aiko3 and it will then fit Aiko perfectly. MAIN These are the main morphs, basically all you need top do is dial them in as you like and you will see what they do, all the dials have limits on them so you cant go too far wrong. A couple of the dials may need a little explaining though. The dial "Sweep" pushes the hair behind the shoulders, dial the dial to 1.000 to use this morph properly, you may need to add a bit of "Rear-Blow" to this dial if you are using it on another figure than v3 to get it to clear the shoulders properly, because as I explained above all hair morphs are designed around a default model and this hair was built using Vicky 3. The dial "Tighten-All" is a very complex morph that took ages to make, it doesn't appear to do all that much but actually what it does is make all the flys a layers sit snuggly together so there is not too much mess or windblown look. The dial "Tighten&Angle" does much the same but angles the flys so the hair looks thicker. Never use these 2 dials together...use one or the other. ADJUST These are the dials for fine tuning the hair in many ways, simply use the MORPH-SETUP1-MAT file so you can see the hair and dial them in and you will see what they do. POSE These are important dials...because the Golden-Age-Hair is a hair prop these dials make it operate properly in relation to the host figures neck movements. So if Vicky twists her neck 25 to her left then dial in about 0.700 in the "Twist+35" dial so the hair twists nicely. Similarly if she bends back -25 (V3 neck bend -25) then dial in Rear-25 or Rear-Sweep -25 in the Pose section of the hair. FLYS There are only 3 dials here, dial them in and you will see what they do. A dial to note is "Flys-Angle", this dial angles the flys like the "Tighten&Angle" dial we mentioned earlier but without the tightening effect. FRONT, HALO, FLARE These 3 sections pretty much fall into the try them and you will see what they do. Just a couple of points to note tho, if there are 2 similiar names like "Front-Fall1" and "FrontFall2" then its probably best to use one or the other, also the morph dial Halo-Drop in the "--HALO--" section is a useful dials that pulls the sides of the halo downwards so the flyaways have a more downward appearance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well thats it, I hope you like the "Golden-Age" Hair and I hope this pack adds a touch of magic to your Poser and daz Studio renderings. Check out www.magix3d.com for more items. Best Wishes Harvey Mann -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ABOUT FILE SHARING!!! Warez and File sharing is hurting the Daz and Poser community, most of us individual artists are now very close to being put out of business by file sharing, ultimately anyone who does this is not only hurting the artist, but also all the users who are honest and enjoy using these products, only a very small proportion of buyers see fit to either make these products available as Warez or as so called shared files. Please do not distibute these items as Warez or shareware. Most merchants actually struggle to make ends meet and so called file sharing has discouraged many merchants from producing any further creations for the Poser community, because the already low profit margins have been even further eroded by illegal activity thereby making it impossible to carry on with our very small businesses. We are not big software manufacturers, we are small self funded artists that pay rent and struggle to provide for families, and distributing our products as WAREZ is no better than breaking into that persons house on a daily basis and stealing a substantial part of their wages. IF you can have a conscience about this...PLEASE DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THESE ITEMS IN THIS WAY. Because eventually this activity will not only put the artist out of business but will also deprive the whole community of further products from that artist. If any buyer has seen such warez activities please try to contact the merchant whose product has been distributed in this way. Thanks for your co operation.
