Sitting a reflective object in a bare environment will not usually produce very interesting renders. The object needs to be able to "see" other objects in order to reflect them. If you want to use one of the dirty shaders, but don't want it to appear bumpy, simply disconnect the bump node. Different effects may also be achieved by altering the x, y and z scales of the bump node inputs.
