'Flintlock Pistol' is a classic flintlock pistol for Poser modeled after a real pistol as well as loads of reference illustrations. The pistol is a static prop and comes with 1 color texture map and 1 highlight texture map (and a bump map but that is not assigned in the Poser prop - see below for details). 'Flintlock Pistol' is the perfect prop for you pirating needs wheather it's a scene out on ship deck or in a gloomy tavern off the Trinidad coast! And - as a bonus I've also included a 'Pirate Hat' for your adventures on the Seven Seas! --------------------- Installation: Run the zip extractor into your Poser directory (DO NOT unzip the archive to the Poser Runtime directory, or the files will not show up in Poser's library palettes). 'Flintlock Pistol' and 'Pirate Hat' will now be available in Props > CartesiusPirates. --------------------- Poser 4 users: If you are using Poser 4 you will need to convert the "_BMP.jpg" files to bump maps BEFORE adding the figure to the scene! Here's how to do it: 1) Go to the Materials Editor (Render > Materials). 2) Select the Ground. 3) Click the "Load..." button next to the "Bump Map" and browse for the "_BMP.jpg" files. Poser will then convert it. 4) Click the Cancel button when done (this will cancel the material change, but not undo the conversion). Poser will save the BUM file to the same folder as the jpg file (to be used later) and will also retain the bump map in memory (to be used now). 5) Go to the Props > CartesiusFurniture and add the chair to your scene. --------------------- 'Flintlock Pistol' with bonus 'Pirate Hat' contains: 2 obj-file 2 Poser prop (PP2) 2 1024 x 1024 color texture 1 1024 x 1024 highlight texture 2 1024 x 1024 bump texture --------------------- For use in your favorite 3D application: The basic fileformat is *.obj which means that it's widely accepted in most 3D applications, not only Poser - simply import the *.obj file into your preferred 3D modelling application and re-assign the textures if necessary. You might have to scale the model once it's imported. --------------------- The color map for 'Flintlock Pistol' is 1024 x 1024 and comes with a corresponding highlight map*. * Please note: The bump map is NOT assigned to the pistol when you load it in Poser. Somehow the geometry breaks when any kind of bump is assigned (ugly 'streaks' appear along polygon edges) so I decided to not assign it. The bump map is available in the pack so if you do want to use it feel free. If you know why the bump breaks the geometry, feel free to let me know. The colour map for 'Pirate Hat' is 1024 x 1024 and comes with a bump map of the same size assigned and ready to go. The objects are modeled with CINEMA 4D R9.6 and exported as Wavefront *.obj using the Riptide plugin. --------------------- Macintosh users: If you are using Poser 4 or ProPack you might need MacConverter to convert *.rsr files to a Macintosh compatible resource.
