Luminotography: Shadows and Effects There's something about shadows that can make a scene feel dramatic and special. The perfect shadow can give the image a sense of solace, loneliness, of danger. Or it can make the characters seem more determined, braver, sinister, angrier, scarier, frightened, more sincere or sexier. All this from shadows or lack of them. When I put a scene together I always consider the type of lighting I want. I look at the real world and movies for inspiration. My favorite type of scenes are those that show the performers in special and dramatic lighting. I like it when there is a heighten sense of awareness because of the lighting. Movie directors and cinematographers have always used shadows to create this special type of world for us. So, I learned my lessons from them and translated it to Poser. Included is the ability to control the scene like never before. You'll be able to move each set of lights around the figure. There's too much shadow under the chin? Move the entire SET of lights as if you really were the director. You want the shadow over the characters left shoulder – no problem. Maybe change it to the right shoulder – done. Luminotography: Shadows and Effects is a special blend of IBL, Gels, and Regular lights. Like all the other Luminotography sets you will be amazed at the amount of control you have over your scenes. Now, you can give your scenes that extra special dramatic lighting like never before.
