CHIMPY for Poser 6 and Poser 7, copyrighted by S. Ariaans ~ February 2007 All of the content in this package was created by ariaans/S. Ariaans (www.samiranet.nl) INTRODUCTION: ************* Chimpy is a cute new custom Poser-character that can express a lot of emotions in your artwork! As several peoples asked me to please sell this Chimpy, I tried my very best to perfectionate as well as possible the (IK-chained) setup for Poser 6 and 7 and added a lot of headmorphs to make your own expressions,I made pre-made expressions, poses, handposes and variations in fur to give you all a lot to play with. I edited the cr2-files to let them use as less memory as possible while loading more then one chimp into your scene. You even are able to start with some chimpies with little fur with a procedural texture and decide later to replace them by the chimpy-version with painted texture. When you keep props attached, the fur will be attached to the new chimpy and still length, hair-direction etc. can be changed. For the GirlFur-version I selected parts of the bodypart-groups before cr2-editing, so when you want to change the settings of her skirt or top, you have have to deselect some polygons to get the same model top or skirt as I gave her, or you can make a new top with all the polygons of the chest-part selected. When you start your scene with chimpies with a lot of fur and your computer has not enough memory to render them, just replace one or more chimpies by one with less fur, or render your scene a few times and combine them all together later in a program like f.e. Photoshop. When your scene gives strong shadows, maybe you should lower the bump-value. HOW TO INSTALL CHIMPY: ********************** Open the zip file with WinZip Click EXTRACT Verify that All Files is checked Verify that USE FOLDER NAMES is checked Extract the folder to your Poser directory and Winzip should create the path to the files HOW TO USE CHIMPY: ****************** Go to your Figures-tab and look for Chimpy, and choose the Chimpy(Chimpies) that you like: Chimpy 1 with Short Fur has fur all over his body and is low in memory-use. Chimpy 2 with Short Fur has more hair with smaller root/tip-size all over his body and needs a little more memory because of that. Chimpy 3 with Medium Fur has longer hair all over his body and is low in memory-use. Chimpy 4 with Medium Fur has longer hair with smaller root/tip-size all over his body and needs a little more memory because of that. Chimpy 5 (A)has no hair, but contains a procedural material as basic skin and is the very lowest in memory-use. Chimpy 6 (B) has no hair, but contains a texturemap with Painted Fur for easier use to smudge just a little extra fur with a hair-brush in Photoshop. Chimpy 7 (C) only has a little Fur near the hands and feet. Chimpy 8 (D) has also Fur covering his lowerarms and lowerlegs. Chimpy 9 (E) has Girl Fur, as if she wears a top and a skirt. Then go to your Poses-tab, look for ChimpyPoses and you will see 16 premade poses. Choose a pose that comes close to the pose that you had in mind. If you want to change the expression: Go to the expression-tab and choose one of the premade expressions, or select the head and play with all the dials to make custom expressions. TO TURN THE HEAD, SELECT THE NECK!! If you want to change to hand-poses: Go to the Hands-tab and choose one of the many (17) handposes that I already made for you. The first 00-pose is the standard hand-pose. That's the best one to start a new custom pose. The hand can be posed in different ways. You can select the hand: Then you'll see a lot of dials for easy quick changing of fingers and thumb. I gave those dials limits. You can also click on the individual finger-parts to adjust the pose. Then you're less restricted to limits. The limits can be helpful to avoid too strange posing or mesh-deforming. If you want to change them, doubble-click on the dial and give a lower or higher + or - value to the bending, sidewards move or twisting. To move his eyes all the way from down to up or left to right, you need to use 2 dials. When you want to render a 3/4 or side-view of Chimpies face try the Basic2-dial from the Head-morphs and the Cheek 3-dial (in combination with the cheeksteeth forewards, right below that dial). The HooHoo-expression is very nice to use in that case too. When you keep the Basic Expression (dial Basic) at 1,000, you won't quickly see the cheek poke through the skin while making your own expressions. Chimpy can not move his toes all individually, but he can twist and bend them to get really nice effects with his special designed feet to create Character. I tried to optimize the setup in the first place for nicely interesting posed stills. If you want to load him into the Walk-designer to help you with making a basic walk-cycle, you better manually set the Side-Side-limits of the thigh-parts and the Twist-limits of both feet-parts to ZERO to get a better start. (You even might choose for adjusting 2 foot-part-joints for more human-like walking.) For animation with bvh-files tighter limits needs to be set manually (also for the head/neck-bending). When you know how to adjust things in the graph-editor you can get nice results. If you want to give Chimpy a Genbulge (with or without hair), select it after loading it into the scene, click on - Figure - Conforme to - and choose the Chimp. When you load Chimpy, IK (Inverse Kinematics) for the legs is checked. To check or uncheck IK for the hands and legs, go to Figure, choose Use Inverse Kinematics and check or uncheck... Don't be afraid to change the hair-color or hair-settings of Chimpy!! Once loaded in your scene, you can change anything you like!! Go to the Hair-tab, select a bodypart (or hairprop) and change settings!! When you have a dream-computer with lots of RAM and CPU, you can give Chimpy lots of more smaller hairs!! For in case you want to change back to the standard hair-color, go to the Material-tab, Choose Materials - Ariaans - Chimpy and there you find some materials for easy changing-back. Notice that you can also make some teeth invisible!! Secect in the Material-editor the no-tooth or no-tooth2 material-group and apply the Transparantteeth-material.
