Paklet P7 Destroyer Copyright 2007 Keith Hazelet ============ Author: Keith Hazelet ============ Product Description: This is an easy-to-use 3DS MAX model of the Paklet P7 Destroyer, a huge science-fiction warship. The Paklet P7 is equipped with a deadly array of weapons, including a huge double-cannon, and has a large array of engines to enable fast traven between battles. This is a highly-detailed 3DS MAX mesh accompanied with excellent procedural materials and convincing video-post engine glows. The detail levels are easy to manage as each "level" of detail is color-coded and therefore is easy to disable if not needed. Since the materials are all procedural, there is no need to worry about keeping track of texture files. The ship is designed to look large, and was modeled to appear to be about one mile long. The communication systems, engines, and weapons are all highly detailed, along with a some other areas of the ship. There are 531355 faces spred across 205 objects. A lower-detail version is included in .3DS format for compatibility, but this does not maintain the materials or lighting from the .MAX file In order to get the full effect of the engine glow, renderings should use the video-post effects included. ============ System Requirements This was produced on a PC with 3DS MAX 7 without any extra plugins. Opening the file with 3DS MAX 7 or later (and probably earlier) and executing the video post flow set up should produce the same image as advertized. No other files or plugins are needed. ============ Ownership statements: All of this product's content was created by Keith Hazelet ============ Needed Files: None, other than 3DS MAX 7 ============ Installation instructions: Get 3DS MAX running Open the provided .max file Bring up the rendering->video-post panel render a single frame - the camera selected will produce the upper-rear view. Usage Tips/Limitations: ============ The lighting included takes a bit of time to render (although less than raytracing), switching to shadow maps will speed things up The model heirarchy has the object "paklet destroyer main hull" owning all other parts of the ship ============ Files list readme.txt license.txt P7.max p7_med_detail.3DS images/views.jpg images/slant_details.jpg images/mid_section.jpg images/wireframe.jpg
