====================================================================== ************************************************************ *Product Name: Victoria4 to Victoria3 Skin Texture Remap *Copyright 31 August, 2007 *By: dphoadley *Contact: ************************************************************ The Victoria4 to Victoria3 Skin Texture Remap is UVs file that converts the Daz Victoria 4.1 figure to be Victoria 3 skin texture compatible. Please Note: Not all textures are equal, and some will suffer certain distortions on certain parts of the body, especially the upper arms and at the corners of the hip. All efforts were made to eliminate such distoritions, but the simple fact remains that Victoria 4's mesh is radically different from that of Victoria 3, and some anomalies are inevitable. Also, as MAT poses fall more or less into the realm of DAZ copywrite restrictions, no change therefore has been made in the naming of the materia zone, so in some areas the texture may need to be applaid by hand in the materials room, (SkinFace/SkinHead and SkinHead/SkinScalp). One can however, open the obj. file in a text editor and rename the material zones to better comply with those of V3. It's as simply as that. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all my friends in the Poser Community, but especially to Stahlratte for his unstinting aid and advice, and RamWolf and Cobaltdream for encouraging me to go on when discouragement all but overwhelmed me. -May G-d bless all of you and yours all the days of your life! -------------------------------------- System Requirements: PC and Mac compatible Poser 4 and above Victoria 4.1 UV Mapper Classic or Pro -------------------------------------- Ownership Statement: All of this product's content was created by dphoadley -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: To install the Victoria4 to Victoria3 Skin Texture Remap, you need either UVMapper Classic of Pro. UV Mapper Classic is a FREE download form: http://www.uvmapper.com/index.html Look in the 'Download' section. Unzip the files. 1: Open UVMapper, and click - 'File / Open Model,' and load the blMilWom_v4b.obj. 2: Again click - 'File / Import UVs,' and Import the Vic4.1V3.uvs file. After this, save your model under a new name (i.e. Vic4.1V3.obj). 3: Now, open your Victoria 4.1 Cr2 file in a text editor (Wordpad, Editpad Lite, etc.). Before anything, click 'File / Save as,' a save the Cr2 under the name Vic4.1V3.cr2. Now do a 'Search and Replace,' replacing the old v4 object with the newly mapped object, and then click 'Save.' Ex: Change - 'figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:blMilWom_v4b.obj' to - 'figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:Vic4.1V3.obj' 4: Make sure that the extension is 'cr2' and not 'txt.' An alternate method has been suggested by Joe Public: This is IMO the easiest and fastest way to create a new figure from David's UV file: 1. Open UV Mapper 2. Import the blMilWom_V4b.obj file from the DAZPeople folder in your geometries directory. 3. Import the new UV file. 4. Save the remapped object anywhere you like. 5. Open Poser and import the remapped object file. (Do NOT move it, and DO UNselect ALL import options Poser offers by default) 6. Enter setup room and browse to the V4.1 cr2 in your character folder to copy the bones and morphs. (Just click on the V4.1 icon. Poser will do the rest for you.) 7. Go back to the pose room and save your remapped V4.1 to any figure folder you like.
