************************************************************ *Product Name: The Orrery *Copyright 15th April 2007 *By: Andrew Budleigh ************************************************************ The orrery is as faithful a copy as I can achieve of a 19th century instrument. It comes with two textures one historic one modern, and there are MAT poses to swap them round. There are two prop bases which have been smartpropped to fit to the figure. Make the "base" bodypart invisible and load the new base before rescaling. There is a pose file for a two year repeating cycle (see instructions below) which of course has been slightly fudged as the planets don't all line up perfectly every two years. Hehe For those who are more familiar with animation I have made it possible to use the lunar ectiptic ring to make the moon rise and fall in relation to the earth. You will need to set the ring to about 6 degrees and then set keyframes for the moon at it's zenith and nadir each half lunar month. -------------------------------------- System Requirements: PC and Mac compatible Poser 5 and above DazStudio -------------------------------------- Ownership Statement: All of this product's content was created by Andrew Budleigh -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: Files should unzip into their correct locations -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: To use the included pose file I suggest the following: Load the orrery into your scene. Choose the base and texture you want then scale it down to your required size and position it. Set your number of frames to something suitable. For a nice smooth animation I use 730, i.e. one frame = 1 day Move to the last frame and apply the pose Move back one frame and make it a keyframe (the little + sign in the bottom right for poser) Click in the box with the number of frames and reduce it by one. In my example, to 729. Poser will ask you if you really want to delete the frame, say yes. Turn off the skip frames. The tiny white dot in the extreme bottom right. Click play. If you want a shorter segment just make the last frame you want into a keyframe and delete the rest If you want the 2 year repeating cycle in much less frames just use 365 instead of 730 and follow the steps. -------------------------------------- Files Included in the Product: \Runtime\Textures\NPR\Orrery\ Dial_Black.jpg Earth_Modern.jpg NO_carriage.jpg NO_earth.jpg NO_mercury.jpg NO_venus.jpg Orrery Base.jpg Zodiac Dial.jpg base02.jpg lunar phase dial.jpg terrestrial zodiac.jpg \Runtime\Libraries\Props\Ness Period Reproductions\Orrery\ Base 02.png Base 02.pp2 Base 03.png Base 03.pp2 \Runtime\Libraries\Pose\Orrery\ Black Textures.png Black Textures.pz2 Default Textures.png Default Textures.pz2 Two Year Repeating.png Two Year Repeating.pz2 \Runtime\Libraries\Character\Ness Period Reproductions\ Orrery.cr2 Orrery.png \Runtime\Geometries\NPR\ Orrery.obj ======================================================================
