The items, however, have been tested in these programs and found to work okay, except for the Poser 6 material shaders which are not compatible with these versions. Note: The Poser 6 material shaders (used to set transparency on/off in order to hide/show different material groups on the crown to change its appearance, requires Poser 6 or higher). Poser 4, D/S, etc, users may manually set the transparency on these material groups to obtain the same results. The shaders simply automate the process. *No rsr thumbnails included, however, the png thumbnails may easily be converted to rsr using the free P3DOExplorer or similar utility *The Material Room shaders for the Crown require Poser 6 or higher. Technical support is for Poser 6 and higher, however I will be glad to assist, where possible, with older versions of Poser and/or DAZ Studio. -------------------------------------- System Requirements: PC and Mac compatible Poser 6 or higher recommended -------------------------------------- Ownership Statement: All of this product's content was created by shadownet -------------------------------------- Needed Files: Michael 3 -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: GOOD TO KNOW STUFF (PLEASE READ) BEFORE YOU ADD THE CLOTHING After you load M3 into your scene. I recommend you turn IK for the legs off and Zero the figure. Conforming clothing seems to pose better with the figure if you do this. DON'T OVERLOOK THE UTILTITY POSE PRESETS! In the BullKing Pose library folder you will find a collection of useful utility pose to turn IK on/off for M3 legs. Zero M3 to recommended starting pose position for adding conforming clothing and smart props. Reset clothing to default setting when loaded from library. PLEASE NOTE: The zero Pose for M3 will not change any Morph Dial settings you have. The RESET pose for the Clothing WILL! "SMART HANDLES" & THE ARMOR SKIRT Load and conform clothing as usual. Smart Handles will be ready to go from there. The Armor Skirt uses a special "smart handle" set up to aid in automating posing of the dangling straps to some degree. "Smart Handles" are something I came up with to help work around some of the problems inherent to Poser in getting certain types of clothing items to pose properly with the figure when posed. While not perfect, Smart Handles do have a few advantages over the more commonly seen/used body handles. Smart handles are simple prop handles that are smart parented to the clothing. In this case, the armor skirt's thighs and abdomen body part groups. Smart handles make use of Poser's "Point At" feature to help automate matching the clothing pose to the figure pose. Again, this will not be perfect, and some some manual posing may at times be needed as well. The Smart Handles however will make it much easier since often only minor adjustment of a handle is needed to finish pose. In addition to using the Smart Handles to aid in posing the clothing, you can also use the dials in the body part group to further manual pose and adjust. Sometimes you can do this with the Point At value left at 1. Other times, you may find it better to set Point At for that body part (i.e one of the dangling straps, in this case, on the armor skirt) to a value of 0. You may then freely adjust the bend, twist, and side-side dials for that body part without the influence of the Point At command affecting the mesh. For many poses, you will find that use of the smart handle set up will greatly simplify and/or eliminate the amount of manual posing needed. Since Smart Handles are simply smart props that make use of the Poser Point At feature, it is easy to incorporate the set up into other clothing you might have, without the need for altering the mesh to include special built in body part handles. I encourage you to experiment with Smart Handles. :O) Please Note: I did not include a smart handle set up on the cape as I found it better/easier to use the dials to adjust the pose to match the figure pose. The cape is another of those type clothing items that Poser can sometimes be difficult about. THE KILT, SANDALS & OTHER CLOTHING ITEMS First, there will be some POKE THRU with the hip (skirt) portion of the KILT. I played around with the joint parameter settings and tried to find a happily medium to get the widest ranger of pose possible, such as kneeling and sitting down. I have found that in most cases the fastest and easiest fix for the poke thru is to adjust the Tone morph in the hip group. When that fails, try the ERC dials and/or thigh body part dials. There are also lots of adjustment morphs. My goal was to make the clothing auto pose to the figure with as little manual tweaking as possible. Overall, I think I succeeded. The ERC dials and adj morphs may also be used to help correct some of the distortion to the mesh that may happen with certain extreme poses, such as when using the M3 kneeling pose and you get that boxy polygon look in places. I also tried to build in a little variety where possible. Making it possible to change the looks of the clothing to some degree. For, example, if you hide the abdomen body group on the Kilt, you will have a two piece outfit with upper harness and kilt. Hide the hip group, and you have just the upper harness. I did the same thing with the Sandals. Hide the shin group and have just the shoes. Hide the feet group and have just the greaves (shin armor). Changes to material groups used in the clothing and props will also lend variety. For example, the crown by default loads with all materials visible. However, by applying transparency to certain material groups, you can change the look of the crown. (Note, the material shaders for the crown will also work on some of the other props, such as the armband, where some material groups are the same in both, i.e. the bull head.) THE CAPE The Cape has FBM dials in the BODY group. You will also find a few Master Dials in the Flow body group. These are for special morph based poses, such as Drape 1, Drape 2, etc.) which affect changes to both the chest and flow body part groups. You will used the FLOW body part group the most when posing (since this is the actual cape portion) In addition to the above morphs, the chest and flow group will have a variety of adjustment morphs, similar to those you will find included in the other clothing/prop items. These are useful in posing, fitting, and correctly poke thru. The OverLeft morph (one of the Master Pose morphs in the Flow body part group) will drape the back of the cape up, around, and over the left shoulder and arm. Obviously, the left arm will need to be lowered at the side to prevent poke thru. There is not a lot of pose possibility for that morph beyond that; however, some of the morphs, such as the adj_BotL & adj_BotR, can be used to adjust the drape of the cape over the shoulder and arm to some degree. Also, don't forget to use the normal X,Y,Z scale dials and the Twist, FrontBack, Side-Side dials when posing the cape. Or the morphs in varying combinations of plus or minus dial values. Results will often be unexpected and not always desirable, but when you hit on the right combination, it can be pure pose magic! It is also possible to use the cape in the Cloth Room. Though it may be slower than manually posing and I do not guarantee you will get any better results. However, I am sure some of you will want to try. :O) For best results I recommend you NOT CONFORM the cape to the figure. PARENT the cape to the figure's chest. Select the Flow body part group in the Cloth Room and convert it to dynamic cloth. When setting up collision, generally you need only set the Figure body parts and do not need to include the clothing, particularly if you use the default depth detection settings of 1. From there, continue with the simulation as you normally would. P.S. If you have/use PhilC cloth room presets or the python version by SVDL, I recommend you try the Silk preset. NOTE: Technically you could also run the skirt portion of the Kilt through the simulator as well. The best way to do this is to conform one kilt to the figure and hide the hip group. Load a second kilt, hide the chest and abdomen group and parent the hip to the figure hip. This will keep the leg movement of your figure from adversely affecting your simulation. It may work with the kilt conformed, depending on the pose you are using, but be aware that those movements will translate to the mesh and will be included in the simulation (so if you spawn a morph to save the pose, when the clothing is conformed, the affect of the legs will be compounded). If you want to make pose morphs for the kilt, do the simulation with the skirt parented. Spawn the morph to the hip group. The, later, delete the simulation, conform the kilt to the figure, and apply the pose morph you spawn. The morph pose and figure pose (legs) should now match. I really should do a tutorial on tips and tricks for the Cloth Room using hybrid clothing. THE PROPS Some of these are smart props (SP) and will automatically parent themselves to your M3 figure when loaded. Make sure you have your M3 figure selected before you load the prop, to make sure it parents to the correct figure in your scene. The other items are prop versions of the clothing, i.e. gauntlet, armband, wristband. By default they will load to the position they would be on M3, but they are not parented to the figure. Use the dials to relocate them in your scene to where you want them. If you decide to parent them to a figure, be sure to check the "Inherent bend of parent" option when you smart parent the prop(s). This will help keep them from "traveling" and causing poke thru when the figure's arm is twisted or bent and otherwise posed. Note: for some reason Poser develops amnesia when you save the prop to the library or as a pz3. When you load again, the props will not 'bend' with the figure like you told it to, so you will probably need to change the parent to universe and parent the prop again to keep it from traveling. Not a big deal for still poses, but if you are doing an animated series, it can be a pain in the butt to have to manually correct the "traveling" (not so) smart props. The Bull Head The bullhead will parent to M3 chest by default, rather than to his head as might be expected. You may find it useful to lock neck and head of your M3 figure to prevent these from poking thru the bullhead when you apply a new pose preset. The bullhead has several morphs to change the look and shape of the horns. These morphs may be used in combination with each other, at + and - values to come up with a variety of different looks, and need not be limited to use at a value of 1 or 0 for the dial setting. Note: the Crown also has a few shape morphs for the two side horns. MISCELLANEOUS KITANETOS BY GYPSYANGEL Clothes include a Full Body Morph to fit to this awesome looking M3 character. This is the Bull King! MEGALITHIC THRONE ROOM BY MAPPS Simply put, its nothing short of an incredible collection of props and setting you will love - and love to use often! And that's no bull! -------------------------------------- Files Included in the Product & Installation Instructions: Unzip all items to your root Poser directory with the use file path option enabled to auto install, or manually place files as shown: ..\runtime\Geometries\shadownet\BullKing\ bkarmband.obj bkarmorskirt.obj bkcape.obj bkcrown.obj bkgauntlet.obj bkkilt.obj bksandals.obj bkwristband.obj bullhead.obj ..\runtime\libraries\character\BullKing\ Armband.cr2 Armband.png ArmorSkirt.cr2 ArmorSkirt.png Cape.cr2 Cape.png Gauntlet.cr2 Gauntlet.png Kilt.cr2 Kilt.png Sandals.cr2 Sandals.png Wristband.cr2 Wristband.png ..\runtime\libraries\Materials\BullKing\ Crwn_All_Off.mc6 Crwn_All_Off.png Crwn_All_On.mc6 Crwn_All_On.png Crwn_BHead_Off.mc6 Crwn_BHead_Off.png Crwn_BHead_On.mc6 Crwn_BHead_On.png Crwn_Base.mc6 Crwn_Base.png Crwn_BullHeads_Off.mc6 Crwn_BullHeads_Off.png Crwn_BullHeads_On.mc6 Crwn_BullHeads_On.png Crwn_Default_Off.mc6 Crwn_Default_Off.png Crwn_Default_On.mc6 Crwn_Default_On.png Crwn_Furrel_ON.mc6 Crwn_Furrel_ON.png Crwn_Furrel_Off.mc6 Crwn_Furrel_Off.png Crwn_Horns_Off.mc6 Crwn_Horns_Off.png Crwn_Horns_On.mc6 Crwn_Horns_On.png ..\runtime\libraries\pose\BullKing\ 0-IK-legs-Off.png 0-IK-legs-Off.pz2 0-IK-legs-On.png 0-IK-legs-On.pz2 0_ZeroPose.png 0_ZeroPose.pz2 Armband.png Armband.pz2 ArmorSkirt.png ArmorSkirt.pz2 Cape.png Cape.pz2 Gauntlet.png Gauntlet.pz2 Kilt.png Kilt.pz2 Sandals.png Sandals.pz2 Wristband.png Wristband.pz2 ..\runtime\libraries\props\BullKing\ Armband_NP.png Armband_NP.pp2 Bullhead_SP.png Bullhead_SP.pp2 Crown_SP.png Crown_SP.pp2 Gauntlet_NP.png Gauntlet_NP.pp2 Wristband_NP.png Wristband_NP.pp2 ..\runtime\Readme\ BullKing_License.txt BullKing_readme.txt -------------------------------------- ENJOY!
