3) Product Description
DownRezer is a tool that makes a copy of existing .pz2 and all linked texture files, downsampling the size of the copied texture files, so that loaded MAT files take up much less RAM space. Often, we cannot load more than a few characters in a single poser/carrara/daz scene, because the MAT texture files are too big. Such resolution is useless with many characters in a single scene, since we can't see the details anyway of each MAT file when camera is far away from the character. Thus, having a LOW-resolution copy of a .pz2 and associated MAT texture files, allows you to load more characters in a single scene. Works on any .pz2 MAT pose file, including skin textures, clothing MAT pose file... Downsampling is made thru a bilinear scaledown of image files to 25% of original size (height and width divided by 2), and all LOW-res copies are saved as .jpg JPEG, 90% quality, 50% smoothing, for best results, and reasonable file size.

A "Runtime" folder containing a "libraries" and "textures" folder, case-sensitive folder names. (Capitalized Textures folders don't work on all platforms, for occult reasons)

6) Installation instructions
Unzip the DownRezer.zip folder, and place application folder wherever you wish. There must be a "data" folder in the same place as the application (.exe) file. Double-click the application file to run the application.

7) Usage Tips/Limitations
When you first open the application, select your "Runtime" folder using the "Browse" button. Do NOT select your application folder, nor a sub-folder inside the Runtime folder. Then, browse thru your Runtime directories and select some MAT pose file. Selected MAT pose file that work will "calculate" the texture filesize, and estimate the DownRezed copy. To duplicate and DownRez a MAT pose file, click on the "DownRez" button. Original .pz2 and textures are left untouched.

Software will work on any .pz2 file that are linked to texture files ending with the extension (.jpg, .JPG, .jpeg, .JPEG, .bmp, .BMP). Texture files are duplicated inside the same directory in the original "textures" sub-folder indicated by the MAT pose file. Thumbnail PNG file will be duplicated, and the "Low" mention will be added. Thumbnail RSR will not be duplicated, and the new "LOW" thumbnail will be a blue box with filled information in it, to make it easy to find in your software content browser.
