The Old Barn Set 10/03/05 by Richabri (Rick Bridenbaker) Thank you for purchasing 'The Old Barn Set' for Poser! All of this product's content was created by Richabri. =============================================================================== Description: =============================================================================== The Old Barn Set is a 15 piece prop set replicating a rustic barn set on a grassy terrain. You get an authentically modeled rustic barn structure complete with a loft, fence section and other accessory props. The Old Barn Set features separate roof and side wall props to make it easier to set up scenes inside the structure. The set also features separate barn doors that will swing open from their hinge areas with a normal Y-Rotation. The Old Barn Set includes everything you need to set up a convincing interior or exterior rustic barn scene including: Building/Landscape Props: ============================= Terrain Barn Side Wall Roof Door Left Door Right Fence Loft Ladder Equipment Props: ============================= Barrel Bench Iron Hook Ladder Lantern Table Wagon Wheel Everything comes as Poser Ready props that can be loaded from the Category menu or for even easier use - just load one of the included PZ3 files which has a default lighting scheme. All of the prop's elements are completely modular and can be used separately or with other sets for maximum use and enjoyment. The Old Barn set comes with high resolution textures that will well support large renders or extreme close-up shots. ============================================================================= Notes: =============================================================================== WARNING!!! -> I usually disable the shadow casting ability of the building elements to make it easier to light any given scene but because this set serves equally well as an exterior set I chose to leave it on for all of the building parts. I would recommend turning off the shadow casting ability of the barn, side wall and/or roof props if you are having trouble getting the light preset to work for your interior scenes. You can do this by selecting the props and going to Object - Properties from the Poser menu and clicking off the Cast Shadows checkbox. =============================================================================== IMPORTANT: BUMP MAPS: No BUM files were provided to keep the archive file size down. Standard Poser 4 users will have to load in the LB_ROOFB.jpg and LB_WALLB.jpg files to create a BUM file. These bump maps are used to add bumping to the Roof and Wall textures. Two versions of the Old Barn props are included here as well two different PZ3 files - one version is for P4/ProPack users and the other version is for Poser 5+ users. The only difference between the two versions is in the implementing of the bump mapping. You should only use the prop set and PZ3 file you need for the version of Poser that you are using :) =============================================================================== All of the doors have their joint parameters adjusted to swing open from the hinges with a normal Y-Rotation. There are no limits to the swing however and you should be careful to control the final position of the door being opened. The lighting scheme uses 4 infinite lights with only light (Main) having the ability to create shadows and the other three providing fill and accent lighting. Usually all that will be needed to light most scenes is to Y-Rotate the Main light. The lighting preset was provided to give a general illumination of this set. It should be adequate for most scenes but I highly recommend adjusting it for any specific scenes you may create if you choose to use it. The textures were chosen to provide the best look to the scene. You can easily change the look of the elements by changing the appropriate textures/colors in the Material Dialog Box in Poser. =============================================================================== You will need Poser 4/5/6/7 or later with the latest patches or Pro Pack to use these props. =============================================================================== To install: Unzip the archive (OldBarn.zip) to the root folder wherever you installed Poser: (i.e., C:\Program Files\Curious Lans\Poser 6). Some adjustments may be necessary to account for different computer environments and/or morphs. If you have any difficulties with the installation or use of these props, please email me with a description of your problem and I will respond promptly. Rick Bridenbaker
