HDR-based lights are the perfect lightsource for all your scenes created in and for PoserPro. This package is a well balanced collection usable for indoor and outdoor scenes with a close look on how the lights work with skin to give you the perfect tool for realistic and lifelike renders. -------------------------------------- System Requirements: PoserPro 2010 or higher, Poser 7 with limitations -------------------------------------- Ownership Statement: All of the content in this package was created by Digital-Lion and SaintFox, and may include derivatives of the following merchant resources: Photgraphs by cgtextures Our own rendered hdr-images -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: Run Winzip or another zip-program and point it your Poser directory. All files will be placed as shown below from the filelist. Be sure to check the "Use folder names" option when unzipping and point Winzip to your Poser directory. After unzipping you will find the lights in the folder "SF HumanNatureHDR" in your light-library. The folder containing the lights may be moved to another folder in the corresponding library if desired. The textures and geometries should stay as is, otherwise you will get an error when loading the lights. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: First and most IMPORTANT: To get results that are as close as possible to the thumbnails and the promotional images provided at Renderosity be sure to turn the GAMMA correction OFF in PoserPro! This package is made and tested to be used in PoserPro with the Firefly Renderer. You are able to use these lights in Poser 7, too, but you may get different, kind of overexposed results. If you run into this problem we recommend to set the diffuse color of each material in the scene to RGB 127-127-127 by leaving the attached materials as they are. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: Be sure to delete all lights from your scene before you add one of the light sets. Repeat this each time you want to change the lighting! We have included a handy button in the light-folder ("!DeleteAllLights") that calls the standard Poser python script to delete all lights from your scene. Using the lights is pretty easy. Build up your scene and choose the desired light. You'll see that you have the choice between "AO" and "NonAO" lights - each HDR based light comes in two versions, with and without Ambient Occlusion enabled at the HDR. If you explore the lights you'll find that each set is made from one HDR-light and one or more "assisting lights" that use colors from the light probe to emphasize the effect. You can change the colors of the assisting lights to your need and taste but we recommend to stay in the same tone or use neutral grays, otherwise you may destroy the overall effect. If you create something beautiful when playing with the lights: Be sure to save the result to your runtime!! This package is a well balanced collection usable for indoor and outdoor scenes with a close look on how the lights work with skin. We encourage you to play around with the camera and turn your figure(s) and prop(s) to catch different parts and sources of the set. Of course you can move and rotate the lights as well but as the assisting lights are placed to boost the effect of the HDR you may achieve better effects when moving and rotating the camera and parts of your scene. ******************************************************************************************* Some important hints about the interplay of textures and light: Please keep in mind that Image based lighting (that uses hdr-images in this set) is a technique that came with Poser 6. The realistic effects that IBL can give you depends highly on the advanced material options that the newer versions of Poser offer you for your scenes. If you find your character looking dull or lifeless or if the skin-texture appears very dark we recommend checking the material settings of your figure. Image based light looks best on characters with advanced shader settings. Your character's material settings should contain shaders that add a slight shine to the skin: A blinn-node or a specular node or -map, even better when used together with bump and/or displacement. If you want to use a character that comes with a plain texture you can add a blinn node manually to all material zones that contain a skin-texture or use one of the tools that face_off offers (Unimesh realism kit, real skin shader, V4 realism kit). If you want to set up some sheen manually you can do it in the material room (advanced mode) and finding the first material zone of your figure that contains skin. Now click on the little plug beside "Alternate Specular" and choose New node-->Lighting-->Specular-->Blinn. Repeat this for every material zone that contains skin. If you desire it you can use the blinn node on the nails, too. The blinn node does not cause a glossy effect, the sheen just gives the illusion of healthy skin. The same may go with clothes, every piece of clothing that uses advanced material settings for the surface will look realistic when used with IBL while plain textures may (!) look dull and lifeless. Some words about Ambient Occlusion: Ambient Occlusion, called AO, can be described as an alternate kind of shadow. AO causes the small shadows that appear where surfaces come close together: The edge of a piece of clothing, the interaction of furniture and body, the region where the upperlip touches the lower lip - these things cause small shadows where the surfaces "meet". AO can boost realism and the feeling of depth in your images. You find that each of the lightsets comes in two versions: With AO added to the lightsource called "HDR" and without AO. So it's up to you if you want AO for your whole scene (choose the "AO" version of the desired light) or without (choose the "No AO" version). Often it is enough to set up AO for the character(s) in your scene and leave clothes, accessories and environment as is because Ambient Occlusion, added to the IBL, can increase the render time. But you should give it a try anyway, the effect may boost your render dramatically. If your character is already equipped with AO nodes you should make a test with both versions of the light and decide for the set that meets your taste. Often you get far too hard shadows with AO on the skin and the light! If the materials of your character do not contain AO you can use the "Occlusion Master" by face_off to set it up automatically or set it up manually. If you want to set up Ambient Occlusion manually you can do it in the material room (advanced mode) by finding the first material zone of your figure that contains skin. Now find the button on the right side (under the "Wacros" menu) that says "Set Up Ambient Occlusion". Click it once and you're done. Repeat this for all zones that contain skin but skip the nails, lashes and so on. Now you should render a small test with both versions of the desired lightset and choose the version you like best. If so called artifacts appear in your renders you can alter the value of the Ambient Occlusion in the propperties of the IBL. We set AO to an avaerage value of 0.7 for all HDR-sets that have AO enabled. To get rid of artifacts try lowering the value in small steps and do some test-renders. ******************************************************************************************** -------------------------------------- Files Included in the Product: \Runtime\Textures\!SaintFox\HumanNature\ ballpastell1.hdr ballpastell1b.hdr ballpastell2.hdr ballpastell3.hdr ballpastell3b.hdr ballpastell4.hdr ballpastell5.hdr geometries1d.hdr landscape1round.hdr sky1.hdr sky2.hdr sky3.hdr sky3b.hdr sky4.hdr \Runtime\SF_HumanNatureHDR docs\ Readme.txt license.txt \Runtime\Libraries\Light\SF HumanNatureHDR\ !DeleteAllLights.lt2 !DeleteAllLights.png HDR Set 01 AO.lt2 HDR Set 01 AO.png HDR Set 01 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 01 NoAO.png HDR Set 02 AO.lt2 HDR Set 02 AO.png HDR Set 02 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 02 NoAO.png HDR Set 03 AO.lt2 HDR Set 03 AO.png HDR Set 03 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 03 NoAO.png HDR Set 04 AO.lt2 HDR Set 04 AO.png HDR Set 04 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 04 NoAO.png HDR Set 05 AO.lt2 HDR Set 05 AO.png HDR Set 05 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 05 NoAO.png HDR Set 06 AO.lt2 HDR Set 06 AO.png HDR Set 06 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 06 NoAO.png HDR Set 07 AO.lt2 HDR Set 07 AO.png HDR Set 07 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 07 NoAO.png HDR Set 08 AO.lt2 HDR Set 08 AO.png HDR Set 08 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 08 NoAO.png HDR Set 09 AO.lt2 HDR Set 09 AO.png HDR Set 09 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 09 NoAO.png HDR Set 10 AO.lt2 HDR Set 10 AO.png HDR Set 10 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 10 NoAO.png HDR Set 11 AO.lt2 HDR Set 11 AO.png HDR Set 11 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 11 NoAO.png HDR Set 12 AO.lt2 HDR Set 12 AO.png HDR Set 12 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 12 NoAO.png HDR Set 13 AO.lt2 HDR Set 13 AO.png HDR Set 13 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 13 NoAO.png HDR Set 14 AO.lt2 HDR Set 14 AO.png HDR Set 14 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 14 NoAO.png HDR Set 15 AO.lt2 HDR Set 15 AO.png HDR Set 15 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 15 NoAO.png HDR Set 16 AO.lt2 HDR Set 16 AO.png HDR Set 16 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 16 NoAO.png HDR Set 17 AO.lt2 HDR Set 17 AO.png HDR Set 17 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 17 NoAO.png HDR Set 18 AO.lt2 HDR Set 18 AO.png HDR Set 18 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 18 NoAO.png HDR Set 19 AO.lt2 HDR Set 19 AO.png HDR Set 19 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 19 NoAO.png HDR Set 20 AO.lt2 HDR Set 20 AO.png HDR Set 20 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 20 NoAO.png HDR Set 21 AO.lt2 HDR Set 21 AO.png HDR Set 21 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 21 NoAO.png HDR Set 22 AO.lt2 HDR Set 22 AO.png HDR Set 22 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 22 NoAO.png HDR Set 23 AO.lt2 HDR Set 23 AO.png HDR Set 23 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 23 NoAO.png HDR Set 24 AO.lt2 HDR Set 24 AO.png HDR Set 24 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 24 NoAO.png HDR Set 25 AO.lt2 HDR Set 25 AO.png HDR Set 25 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 25 NoAO.png HDR Set 26 AO.lt2 HDR Set 26 AO.png HDR Set 26 NoAO.lt2 HDR Set 26 NoAO.png -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- USEAGE RESTRICTIONS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As per enclosed Renderosity MarketPlace Licence
