Unzipping the Contents and Where They Go:

This file should be unzipped directly to your Poser 4 folder.

Mac Users will need Stuffit (TM) to upack these files. A free decoder is available at Alladinsys. You'll also need MacUltilities to convert these files before you use them. Please check the links section of Dendras.Com.

If you are at all unsure about how to to this, or want more information, you may want to check out Dr. Geep's Tutorial on Dendras.Com.

A Note About the Texures: (VERY IMPORTANT!)

Some of the files on this CD have two textures, which end in B.jpg and T.jpg. (Those that end in just .jpg only have one texture). For example:

Filename

What it is

bentoverblockB.jpg

The bump map prior to conversion

bentoverblockT.jpg

The texture map

Files that end in B.jpg are the bump maps, and must be converted before using the file! These are located in a folder called Convert to BUM Files located on this CD.

The easiest way to do this is to open a simple primitive in poser (such as the cube, etc.) and to apply the B.jpg texture as the bump map. You will get a dialogue box, click OK, and the .jpg will be converted to the bump map. Save the BUM files that this process generates into your Runtime/Textures/D&D Motel folder.

Repeat this step for every B.jpg file. We apologize for this, but there is an incompatibility between Macintosh .bum files and PC .bum files which makes this step necessary. Once completed, all the items should function properly.

Spatial Orientations:

Orientations of some props and of the room itself are given as North, South, East, and West, where north corresponds to the Z+ direction, South is Z-, East is X+, and West is X-.

The unused portions of the walls and ceiling are labelled for your reference.

What Goes Where:

The props are pre-set to appear in the document window where they belong. The room is set up with nothing in it, allowing you to add only those elements you need for a given render, saving RAM and time.

Important Exception: The three electrical components (the switches and outlets) appear in the center of the room and must be positioned. We chose to do this because of the infinite position variations these can appear in.

Television:

The television is the same one given away by Dendras.Com for free, with "tamer " textures.

Wires:

Wires are noticeably absent from the telephone and the hairdryer. We chose to omit these because:

1. Wires use a huge amount of memory
2. Wires would have made the hairdryer and telephone unusable as props
3. Wires can be easily added in post-render.

Bed:

The bed contains a number of different morphs. Not all are compatible with each other, so use these judiciously.

Guest Artists Gallery:

We will be happy to post virtually any image you make using or including any Dendras and/or Beyond Bent file. Please visit our sites for more information.
