Author: VanishingPoint Directions: Extract the files into the specified folders: Put the obj files into Runtime\Geometries\VP Put the cm2/ rsr/ png (camera files) into Runtime\Libraries\Camera\VP-MessHall Put the cr2/ rsr/ png (figure files) into Runtime\Libraries\Character\VP-MessHall Put the pz2/ rsr/ png (pose files) into Runtime\Libraries\Pose\VP-MessHall Put the jpg files (textures) into Runtime\Textures\VP\messhall Notes: 1) Poser 4 users do not need to extract the png files and Poser 5 (and above) users do not need to extract the rsr files. 2) The gif files are not used on the model: they are included in case you want to make your own textures. Using the individual figures: 1) Start Poser. 2) Go to the Figures > VP-MessHall Library. 3) Add the Mess Hall to your scene. 4) Add the other objects to your scene to suit your taste. 5) Optinal: Add people to your scene to suit your taste. 6) Pose the people to suit your taste. * OR * Load the complete scene file. 1) Start Poser. 2) Go to File > Open. 3) Browse to where you extracted the MessHall.pz3 (scene file) and open it. To change the textures using the included MAT poses: 1) Go to the Poses > VP-MessHall Library. 2) Select one of objects and apply the corresponding MAT poses. Notes: 1) The Mess Hall (room) will be added to the center of the scene. Depending on your light set and camera angle, the scene may appear dark. Go to the Poses > VP-MessHall Library to hide any walls (or ceiling) that may be blocking your lights or camera. 2) The Left Wall hide and show poses also hide and show the left doors. The Right Wall hide and show poses also hide and show the right doors. 3) For best results, be sure to use the FireFly Renderer with at least 4 ray-traced bounces. 4) For extra realism, apply your favorite space image as the background image whenever the camera can see through the main windows. 5) Framed Pictures: The "Picture" material uses a "maximized" map, which means you can use any image. Be sure to check the proportions (height/ width) of the Picture Frame to make sure your image isn't stretched. The "menu" texture set uses a displacement map to simulate raised lettering. Be sure to check the "Use Displacement Maps" checkbox before rendering. 6) Camera files: Please note that the camera files will only hide the Mess Hall Room's walls (and doors) ONLY if it is the currently selected figure. Note that the camera files do *not* hide other objects, such as the Framed Pictures or Food Dispensers. Hints: 1) Depending on your light set, you may get better results by rotating or moving the Mess Hall Room (by using the Floor or BODY) rather than moving the camera. 2) In the "Mess Hall" scene file, all of the objects are parented to the "Mess Hall Room". This means that everything within the room will rotate or move with the room. This makes it very easy to rotate or position the objects in the scene to suit your taste. 3) Depending on the size of your Poser Document Window, you may get a message about how the scene is larger than the available document size. Click OK to ignore the message and resize the document window to suit your taste. Note that the scene file already has the Render Settings set to use the Firefly Renderer (and reflections and displacement maps). Feel free to adjust these settings to suit your taste.
