The prop features a fully detailed Kitchen complete with cabinetry and appliances. It includes all bathroom fixtures, a hutch and breakfast nook as smart props. The Poser Apartment was designed to be a complete living environment set allowing many opportunities for domestic scenes. The design of the prop allows for easy retexturing of all wall and floor surfaces so you can easily change the look of the interior and exterior surfaces. The Poser Apartment also includes a Ceiling Prop which can be loaded to close the set after your scene is set up. Also included are twenty camera presets with matching light presets to facilitate easy scene creation in any room of the apartment. The Poser Apartment Prop also includes the 3DS modeling file to allow for complete customization and importing into other 3D applications. Included with the Poser Apartment Prop - A Six Room Apartment with Optional Ceiling and Patio - A Hutch Smart Prop - A Shower Unit Smart Prop - A Vanity Smart Prop - A Toilet Smart Prop - A Breakfast Nook Smart Prop (All in PP2 format) - Twenty Camera Presets with Matching Light Presets - Two 3DS Modeling Files of the Apartment and Ceiling Usage: ====================================================== The recommended method for creating a scene using the prop is as follows: 1.) Load the Apartment Prop from the SideBar Menu. 2.) Load other scene elements including characters and use the top camera and move tool to quickly position the elements. The Smart Props included with the Apartment will load into place automatically but they can be moved if needed. 3.) Choose a Camera Preset to provide a view on the room you wish to set up your scene. 4.) Choose a matching Light Preset to illuminate that same room. All the Camera Presets have a matching Lighting Preset except Kitchen 3 which is just a closeup of the Kitchen 2 Camera view. 5.) Adjust scene elements, camera and lights as needed. *NOTE: There isn't one default lighting scheme to adequately light the entire unit and so the presets for the individual rooms are necessary. All of the included lights are set at bright white to provide as much illumination as possible. You may wish to attenuate the brightness and choose warmer colors for the scene. Also, in the large open area of the apartment, no special considerations are needed for positioning the camera. In the Bedroom, Hall and Bathroom however, you should adjust the focal length of the camera to a very small value before repositioning the camera and then increase the focal length to remove parallax (weird angles) as much as possible. To get the most use of the smaller rooms it's recommended that you import a copy the 3DS file(s) into a 3D Modeling software and customize (remove obscuring walls) before setting up your scene. You can then import the modified 3DS file back into Poser for rendering or render the scene in the 3D app. There are no bump maps included with the prop and you may wish to load the textures as bumps to enhance render quality. Technical Notes: ====================================================== The camera presets provide multiple views of every room in the apartment and serve as a good starting point for scene creation. The !Default Camera preset is included to provide a view on the spot where scene elements will be imported by default into a Poser scene. The included lighting presets are matched to the camera views and use three lights to fully illuminate the individual rooms. There is one spot with its shadow parameter set on and two infinite lights without shadow. You may wish to change the intensity, color and shadow to suit your needs. The Poser Apartment and included Smart Props should already be appropriately scaled for a standard size Poser character. Some adjustments may be necessary to account for different computer environments. If you have any difficulties with the installation or use of these props, please email me with a description of your problem and I will respond promptly. Rick Bridenbaker
