Modelled accurately from a real life stepladder, this is very detailed and also opens and closes. it is rigged using an ik chain in 3dsmax so you can open it as much or as little as you like with 3dsmax. it comes with high detail and low detail forms and is in .3ds and .obj format along with .mtl file. it has a bump map assigned to it for the ridges on each step which should work automatically when using with 3dsmax and the .3ds format. bump map will also work with .obj format, but I needed to tell it where the bump map file was. I don't know if this is normal or not.
each format has an open ladder and closed ladder model. .3ds and format has an extra file which has an animation of the ladder opening so for a different position inbetween open and closed, you can delete all other animation frames in that file and use as you wish.

any program that will open these file types. 3dsmax file is using max version 9.

8) Usage Tips/Limitations

each .max file will be fully rigged. to change the angle of the entire ladder, use 'main legs'. to open and close the ladder, use 'rear legs' (rotate). the file 'ladder.max' has been given animation keys with the ladder opening up.
