Note: Poser 4 users - no rsr thumbnails included so you will need to be convert the png images (using P3dOExplorer or a similar utility). -------------------------------------- Ownership Statement: All of this product's content was created by shadownet -------------------------------------- Needed Files: Victoria 4 (V4) *GND4 (Girl Next Door for V4) by Blackheared recommended (optional) *Stormchaser Outfit by Badkittehco recommended (optional) *Michael 3 (M3) recommended - used in some poses sequence as the guy on the receiving end of things (optional) -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: The Poses are for Victoria 4, with a few also included for Michael 3. The M3 poses will often work on V4 and vice-versa, with slight adjustment afterward. The set was made using the Girl Next Door 4 (GND4) morph for V4 and the Stormchaser Bodysuit for GND4. Some of the poses call for extreme bending of the figures arms, legs and torso, and the Stormchaser outfit is meant to be a very tight fitting costume. Obviously poke thru can and does happened. Such is unavoidable in Poser. However, the clothing has more than enough morph dials to correct all but the most ridiculously impossible poke thru problems you will come across - and I found in the course of making the pose set, certain morphs to be useful. The Bulk morph being one. Several others also got used on a regular basis, and I soon discovered I had optimized the bodysuit so that I could run through the poses with almost no poke thru with those morphs applied. I also found that it did not dramatically change the look of the outfit. Yes, it does make it fit a little looser but not appreciatively so. This lead me to creating Optimize pose presets for the clothing. Look on these as a one click, down and dirty, quick fix to solving most any poke thru issues you may run into with the clothing, with my poses or some other set. Even optimized, there may on occasion be some poke thru or fit issue that will need to by manually addressed, but overall this is fast and easy. Making it great for animation work or in general posing where you do not want to spend a lot of time tweaking dials. Keep in mind, the optimize clothing presets take a global approach to setting certain morphs, and this can be hit and miss, and may even conflict with morphs you have in use, since it was made primarily for use with the default GND4 morph - though hopefully you will find it more hit than miss and will not have a problem in this area - you will always get a better fit if you manually adjust only the dials necessary. Also, don't forget the many other Poser tricks and work around solving poke thru problems with the clothing you are using. The optimize clothing presets will only work on the Stormchaser outfit and will not work correctly on other clothing items. You probably can use the optimize V4 presets in conjunction with other clothing, but may need to hide or unhide body parts the preset hides/shows. You will find the optimize presets and other useful Poser utility poses in the ActionStorm Utility sub folder. The ActionStorm Pose folder has several sub folders: 01_ReadMe - this folder has a Mini Tutorial covering some basic thoughts and tips to help you prep your figure and clothing for best results. Covers general recommendations along with info on prepping V4/GND and the Stormchaser outfit. 02_Dojo - in martial arts the dojo is the place you train and keep in shape, so the poses here are acrobatic and unarmed. You can use the pose presets in the utility folder to aid in adding a weapons, and you can easily create new poses by setting up key frames and letting Poser fill in the frames in between. 03_Combat - set of action sequence between two figures. One pose is for V4 as the hero with Michael 3 (M3) on the receiving end. The M3 poses can be used on V4 - though some minor adjusting in the pose may be needed. Often times not. 04_ShootMe - set of shooting poses or poses featuring a gun (for right hand - but easily to swap sides or add second gun). These are customized for the Stormchaser-Gun-Rhand prop. You will find hand poses (even one to change the gun to the left hand) in the Utility folder. Some are stand alone poses. Some are partial poses (for the right arm mainly) making it easy to add the action to an existing pose in use since only the arm(s)is posed, and the rest of the figure pose is left intact. 05_Utility - collection of useful pose presets for turning IK in the legs on or off, zeroing the V4 figure, or just the feet, hiding or showing certain body parts, or locking or unlocking the fingers, etc. You will also find a pose preset to optimize the V4/GND4 and the Stormchaser clothing, if you are using these items together in your scene, with the poses. The ActionStorm Prop folder has two magnet sets. These help prevent poke thru at the knees/calves with the poses when using the Stormchaser Candyboots and bodysuit on your figure. Set up the clothing and figure as you normally would - using the fit morphs in the bodysuit and boots - and then apply the magnets, one to V4 and the other to the bodysuit. Magnet_Bodysuit - apply to the bodysuit, will reshape the bottom of the pant legs to help prevent poke thru with extreme leg bends. Magnet_V4 - apply to V4 to help prevent the knees/calves from poking thru with some poses and still allow leg to show thru openings of Candyboots. General Guidelines for Good Results - What Most Poser Users Know! *Hide body parts underneath the clothing when you can to prevent poke thru problems. *Use morphs in clothing (and figure) and scale dials, etc., to fix poke thru problems in clothing with poses when body parts can not be hidden. *Use the morphing tool or magnet(s) to fix poke thru that can not be fixed in other ways - not as difficult as it may sound, so give it a try. *Lock body parts (hands/feet etc) you custom pose and do not want to change when you apply a new pose preset. *Adding a weapon to an unarmed pose means customizing the pose for the weapon - otherwise the body dynamics can look off when you render. *Remember to Memorize (Figure, Element, All) once you have things set as you want. This way you can restore if later change yields unwanted results. *Partial poses (such as the gun arm poses in the ShootMe pose folder) will only pose a specific body group (i.e. the arm/hand) and will not change the overall pose of the figure. When a partial pose is not available, manually lock the body parts you do not wish to have the new pose change, only the non locked body parts will be posed when the library pose preset is applied. This makes it easy to customize existing poses. *Partial arm poses are for right(gun)arm unless two hand pose. You can often use the symmetry command in Poser to swap the arm pose to other (left) arm. NOTE: The poses were made using GND4 morph on V4 with no boots/shoes, that is to say, barefooted, on the ground plane. To add shoes, zero feet or pose feet for shoes as needed, and use the lock feet preset in the utility folder to prevent the feet/toe pose from changing when you apply the poses in this set. Once you have applied the pose preset you want for your scene, unlock and adjust the pose of the feet as needed. You may also need to adjust the figure so that the feet (with shoes/boots) rests on the surface of the ground plane (if used). Drop to ground sometimes works - but if not, use the ytran dial in the BODY or Hip group to reposition the figure as needed. The new (current) version of GND4 (Version 1.1) had a calve flex morph - the Stormchaser clothing has one to match - other clothing you use may also have this morph - and may need to be manually set (in the clothing) as needed for the pose - or else disabled in the figure using the rem pose preset that comes with the GND4(1.1) ALSO: With some poses a portions of the figure's body may protrude into the ground plane, however, the pose will look correct. This is intentional and was done in an effort to add realism to the pose, since the body would normally compact in contact with the ground or a hard surface. --------------------------------------
