Krooke's Mundo Futuro 3D Industries Presents: Atlas Caelestis Vol. 1: Planetary Bryce Presets. Read Me File - April 24 2009 1) Product Name: Atlas Caelestis Vol. 1: Planetary Bryce Presets. 2) Author Name: By Krooke - Kevin M. Rooke. 3) Product Description: Thank you for purchasing this product. Please take your time to read the included License.txt file provided for correct usage, rights and limits regarding this product. This product is distribuited in three (3) zip files. Atlas Caelestis Vol. 1: Planetary Bryce Presets is a kit of 12 Daz Bryce Object Presets in .obp format of the most detailed, realistic and varied planets created using complex fractal and procedural terrain generation techniques as well as complex image compositing procedures and dedicated hand retouching, which combined resulted in the most exquisite, original and varied planets in full 360¼ detail for your cosmic scenes! All planetary Bryce Presets have their own diffussion/color and bump/elevation map and those planets with an atmosphere include an alpha ambience channel with a cloud map assigned to it. Planets with an atmosphere have, well, their atmosphere too! The atmosphere is actually the halo created by air around a planet, like the blueish halo around Earth. This feature is added into those planets that I considered to have such marvel. The provided cloud maps were also generated using procedural techniques and are as realistic as can be. However, should you wish to go for a more "bona fide" approach, the internet offers many websites were authentic, real time licence-free cloud maps can be downloaded at no cost. A good starting place to get cloud maps from weather satellites such as GOES, METEOSAT and GMS satellites is at http://xplanet.sourceforge.net/clouds.php 4) System Requirements: "Atlas Caelestis Vol. 1: Planetary Bryce Presets" is compatible with MAC and PC DAZ Bryce 5.0, 5.5 and 6+ versions. 5) Ownership Statement: All of this product's content was created by Krooke - Kevin M. Rooke. 6) Needed 3rd party files: None. 7) Installation Instructions. Unzip the Product Zip File(s) (it is distribuited in three (3) zips) into a destination of your choice in your hard drive. Each ZIP file contains four planets in Bryce .obp file format, totalling 12 planets. Launch your Daz Bryce Application and click on the "Create" menu item at the top of your Bryce Window. The Bryce Object Presets Library Window opens. To the left of the window you can see several categories as a list. We are going to create a new category by clicking on the "+" symbol at the end of the categories list. Bear in mind you can create this new category under the "Installed" option or the "User" option which is at the bottom of the "+" and "-" symbols. I recommend installing the planets into the User option. Once you have defined into which of these two option you wish to install into, click on the "+" icon. A little window prompting you to name the new category opens. We are going to name the category as Atlas Caelestis Vol. 1". Click on the tick symbol to validate. The category has now been created and it appears to the left side with the name we have just given it, and a bunch of black squares is what you now have. This is because the category is empty. Now we need to import the planetary presets into our new category. Click on the label that says "Import" at the bottom of the window. You are prompted to browse your hard drive. Locate the contents of the zip files you extracted. All planets have been conveniently labeled with their names and each one is an individual .obp file. Select the first .obp planet (Atlas_CaelestisV1_Acheron.obp) and click on the "Open" or "OK" button (depending on your system), to import the planet. Voila! There's your planet, it just landed on the first black square. Repeat this procedure until you have all 12 planets in your Atlas Caelestis Vol. 1 Category. And... you are ready to go. Now you have the hard choice to choose which planet you wish to work with first. Take a look at the promo images in my renderosity store... then select a planet by clicking on its icon and validate by clicking on the tick symbol at the bottom right hand side of this window. The planet lands into your scene window. Go ahead and explore the different faces of the planet by rotating it and rendering each rotation. The planet is a full 360¼ sphere in all directions full of detailed terrain features all different from the previous one in each turn... or move your camera above, below, etc... 8) Usage Tips: A) The provided samples suggest the relative sizes of the planets in the package. You are not limited by this, as you can increase or reduce the size of the planets without fear of their internal textures becoming blurry or pixelated. (But do not exaggerate! There are always certain reasonable limits!) You are limited by your own imagination. If you want to create a scene where Nysa happens to have Acheron as a moon, - or the other way round - it is fine by me! B) Unlike other planetary kits offered, you are not limited by the same, boring "face" of the planet all the time. The textures wrap around 3D spheres at a full 360¼. This means you can rotate your sphere around the Y axis (or even x or z) to explore the different facets or sides of the planet that are hit by light. Try posing you planet and rendering, rotate it by 45¼ increments and render consequently until you find the face or side that you like the most. In each rotation, you will discover that the face being hit by light is quite different from the previous one. I suggest you play with rotating the planet and rendering until you find the face hit by light that pleases your taste. I myself made 9 renders for each planet by doing so and every face offered different aspects of the same planet! Playing with the light in the Sky Lab will also reveal wonderful features of the planets depending on which angle the light hits the planet! 9) Files List The following is the files list for the three (3) zip files in the distribution: Atlas_Caelestis_Vol.1_Bryce_Presets1 -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Atalo.obp -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Acheron.obp -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Demeter.obp -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Carpho.obp -License.txt -ReadMe.txt Atlas_Caelestis_Vol.1_Bryce_Presets2 -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Hekate.obp -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Iiithya.obp -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Nysa.obp -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Erebus.obp Atlas_Caelestis_Vol.1_Bryce_Presets3 -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Sybyl.obp -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Samael.obp -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Sheol.obp -Atlas_CaelestisV1_Tartaros.obp License.txt ReadMe.txt --------------------------------------------------------------------- Good luck with this product and I trust you will find it enjoyable and entertaining, but above all, I trust it will inspire you to create many, many wonderful cosmic scenes!
