Monorail Model for Poser c 2010 RPublishing This zip file contains ONE (1) monorail model, THREE (3) rail sections, EIGHT (8) MAT poses, ONE (1) "reset colors" MAT pose, texture maps for the controls, and texture templates to make your own textures. Directions: Extract the files into the specified folders: Put the obj files into Runtime\Geometries\VP Put the cr2/ rsr/ png (figure files) into Runtime\Libraries\Character\vp Put the pz2/ rsr/ png (pose files) into Runtime\Libraries\Pose\VP-Monorail Put the jpg files (textures) and gif files (templates) into Runtime\Textures\VP\monorail --The gif files are the texture templates and are not used on the models. They are included in case you want to build your own textures. Notes: 1) Poser 4 users do not need to extract the png files and Poser Pro Pack and Poser 5 users do not need to extract the rsr files. 2) If there is no template for a material (such as "black"), then that material uses a solid color. Using the figure: 1) Start Poser. 2) Go to the Figures > VP Library. 3) Add the Monorail to your scene. 4) Add the Monorail-Rail sections to your scene as needed. 4a) Move and adjust the rail sections as needed. Notes: 1) The Monorail will seem very big and will fill the scene. This is normal- it is scaled so Poser figures can sit inside it. 2) To move the cars left and right, select the cars and adjust the LeftRight dial; the connector pieces can not move. 2a) To move *all* of the cars left and right, use the dial found on the BODY section. 3) To open the doors, use the dials found on the BODY to open all of the doors, all of the left doors, or all of the right doors. Or, select each door individually and open them. 4) For the cars and doors, only the logical dials can be moved: you can't move the car pieces up and down or rotate them around. 5) To change the color of the stripe and trim, simply select a MAT pose from the Poses > VP-Monorail folder. 6) Do not use Poser's "Drop to Ground" command as it may cause parts to fly off the model. 7) Animation note: as with all vehicles, the human figure must be parented to the vehicle's BODY section if you want the person to move with the vehicle. Rails: 1) To raise or lower the height of the legs, click on the Leg (part) and adjust the Lengthen Dial (which is actually the "yScale" dial). 2) Depending on your scene (and the camera angle), you may need to add 5 or 6 sections of rail beneath the monorail for the scene to look correct. Hint: To quickly make a "ground" beneath the rails: 1) Add the "one sided square" prop to your scene. 2) Rotate it -90: change the xRotate to -90. 3) Move it beneath (or just above the bottom) of the rail legs: change the yTran to -3.118. 4) Go to the Material Editor/ Material Room and assign it the Default Ground Texture (this will give it a sandy color). To lighten the texture, adjust the "Strength" slider to a lower value. Usage License: You are completely free to use this figure in any commercial or non-commercial render, image, or animation.
