To learn out more about our products and projects visit our website and forum section where we post freebies, previews and tutorials. ****************************** Where to find "Peppermint" files in your Poser: Character --> AS-Peppermint: clothes Pose --> AS-Peppermint Pose --> AS-Peppermint/Complete Styles: MATs to change the clothing styles Pose --> AS-Peppermint/Partial Styles: MATs to mix and match the dress styles (Top, Shirt and Skirt) or to hide parts of it Pose --> AS-Peppermint/Props Styles: Bracelets and necklace MATs Pose --> AS-Peppermint/Utility: Bones styles and reset, feet reset Props --> AS-Peppermint: necklace and bracelets THE Peppermint PACKAGE INCLUDES: - Peppermint Dress - Peppermint Stockings - Peppermint Shoes - Peppermint Bracelets and Anklets (4X right and left sides) - Peppermint Necklace NOTES/INSTRUCTIONS -IMPORTANT - READ-: 1) Get started Load Victoria 4 and load the clothes, conform them and use the V4 magnet fit on each to add the JCM magnets/morphs to them. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you have VICTORIA 4 SELECTED before loading each piece of clothing in order for the various JCM morphs to work properly and automatically. 2) Morphs Tips Even though the clothes have the cross-talking feature enabled and therefore you cannot use the fitting morphs from the BODY remember you can still use the included fitting morphs (partial or full body) for adjusting the clothes fit by selecting each body part piece and use the morph on the part. If you need more morphs to make the clothes fit your custom character you can either use Lyrra's or Netherworks magnet fitting sets or "Morphing Clothes" by Dimension 3D (Renderosity marketplace). 3) Adjust Morphs If you run into any poke-through or fitting issue you can't fix with the bones remember to check the helper morphs, they were created to solve most poke-through issues that can happen when posing Victoria and, especially, custom characters. They also include particular morphs for when the legs bend and so on. 4) Movement Morphs All movement morphs were created on VICTORIA 4 BASE in ZEROED position, this means that movement morphs may poke-through when the character is posed or you're using a morphed/custom character. Always remember to check the helper morphs or other movement morphs to correct such issues or you can use Poser magnets/DAZ Studio D-Forms. The movement morphs MUST be set at 1 for an optimal outcome. Some may also look good at other values but still they were created to be used with a value of 1. 5) BONES The dress sports 8 bones that come in handy in most situations. We strongly suggest to select the bone you need to use and try to move it around, to see how it works and then (especially if your scene is complex and maybe a bit slow) you can use the PARAMETERS dialing values for a more subtle control. Also note that the cone shaped bones are more suited for fine-tuning since they are more "sensible" in how they influence the skirt movements. 6) Using Alice/Faery/Utopian Alice shape is very different from V4 default one, this means some poke-through may happen more easily, simply use the included morphs to correct it when it happens or custom magnets, you should also check Alice fix morphs because she has several that are useful to adjust poke-through. 7) Poser and DAZ Studio compatibility Peppermint clothes were optimized in both Poser and DAZ Studio, material presets are included for both tools in the same poses folder (DAZ Studio will automatically use D|S -.ds- specific files). As far as the bracelet props are concerned DAZ Studio users need to use the "*_All" poses. 8) HIDING Parts You can hide parts of the dress either via morph (mesh hiding) or via MATerial pose (Partial Styles folder) or even using both. Mesh hide morphs were created because only setting the transparency for the materials may still make something (light shadows) show in the final render in Poser (if you use AO or IDL). However some times if you use the hide morphs and add movement morphs on top of them parts of the mesh can somehow show through, in such cases just add the hide MAT to make sure nothing shows up in the final render that it's not meant to. 9) Jewel PROPS Necklace, bracelets and anklets are all props, this means that sometimes they may not perfectly follow V4 movement or cause some poke-through, if that happens simply use the props tran, scale and rotate dials! The anklets are supposed to fit the ankles without the stocking but if you want to use them over the stockings simply resize them a bit larger of more them a bit to make them fit nicely and without poking-through the stockings. All bracelets and anklets pivot points are in their very center, this means you can easily rotate, move and resize them as you wish and like. This gives you freedom to move them as you wish! 10) PROPS MATs Remember that in order to use the necklace and bracelets MATs you need to have V4 selected (in Poser) otherwise they won't work. Since most are materials no preview will show up until you render. If you load all anklets and bracelets you can either use the "*_All" poses to change the style on all props at once or use the single bracelet/anklet MAT to only change the material/style on that particular jewel piece and mix and match the various pieces styles! 11) crosstalking by default the clothes use the cross-talking technology which means that they will automatically conform to character morphs included in the package. For a list of the morphs included you can check the online tutorials page or the store promo page. NOTE that crosstalking will no more work if you save a single piece of clothing to your library without the character inside. In case the crosstalking feature "breaks" you'll simply need to set the morphs manually. Also NOTE that you won't be able to manually change the value of the morphs from the BODY due to the crosstalking being active but you can change their value on the various body parts (ex.: hip, collar, etc.) in case you need to fine tune some morphs of correct some poke-through. 12) Girl Feet The feet jewels will fit the Girl with the "TheGirlScale" set to Off (zero) in Poser while in DAZ Studio the items will automatically be resized. ******************** RENDERING TIPS ******************** IMPORTANT: always remember that the final outcome heavily depends on your lighting and render settings. To Poser users we strongly recommend the use of the Firefly engine for your final renders, as the result are far better than with the P4 and because it exploits the shaders included in the package; it is also more precise by and large and allows the use of other important features such as raytracing and displacement maps. We also suggest to not use Auto settings but custom Manual ones, for a good outcome of any texture (clothes, skin, hair): - the min shading rate should be set to anything near 0.2 - the pixel sample should be set to at least 6 - the irradiance caching should be set to anything between 75% and 100% (the higher the better) - always leave the USE DISPLACEMENT MAPS CHECKED - always check both the cast shadows and raytracing boxes. ******************** RENDERING TIPS ******************** These notes should clear most of your doubts or questions about "Peppermint" and its features but should you
