WWII Sperry Searchlight and Generator for Poser 7 c 2008 Barry Gibson aka Touchwood All of this product's content was created by Barry Gibson. Directions: Extract the files into the specified folders: Put the obj (object file) into Runtime\Geometries\Baz\Sperry Put the cr2/rsr/png (figure files) into Runtime\Libraries\Character\Sperry Put the jpg (texture files) into Runtime\Textures\Baz\Sperry The actual Searchlight uses Dependant Parameters to move the cables on the side of the drum properly so will only work in Poser 7 at the moment. Using the figure: 1) Navigate to your figures library and load the figure. 2) Controls are on the "body" tab for: - Steering Left/Right (Generator and Light) - Raise and Lower the Searchlight Drum (Light Only) The cables are Easypose cables and are shown on the bone_1 body part. All other movements are on their respective body parts Usage Notes: ------------ Two versions of the searchlight CR2 are included. The Poser 7 version uses Dependant Parameters for the drum cable movement and gives a better movement through the range of travel. The glass uses a Fresnal node to give it transparency and reflection and renders better. In The Poser 5 or 6 version, the cables use normal morphs but there is some distortion through the midway point. The glass uses the reflect & refraction nodes for the transparency and does not render as well (in my opinion). To render the searchlight correctly, use raytracing with bounces set to 5. To reduce render times, bounces can be reduced to 3 without too much loss in quality. The Generator and cables do not use Dependant Parameters so will work in earlier versions. ------------------------------------------------- Usual usage during a war scenario is that the Generator was placed approx 200 yards away from the Searchlight itself and the connecting cables between the light and generator were buried for protection. Similarly a control Unit was placed a suitable distance from the light itself so as not to be blinded and a machine gun placed in front of the light for protection.
