For the styles:
PC Photoshop CSx
NOTE: This program has been tested in Photoshop CS2 and CS5 only!
(The styles may work also with other versions, but this versions are tested)
For the *.png files:
Any program which could read *.png files

Installation Instructions for Gleaming Fireballs (*.png files):

Extract the zip-archive with your zip program
and use a graphic program that can open png files format.

Usage Tip for Gleaming Fireballs (*.png files):

Best results for the fireballs will be shown when you use them
on dark backgrounds.

Installation Instructions for the styles:

1. Unzip and extract the styles (.asl file) into your Photoshop styles' Windows directory (normally C:/Program    Files/Adobe Photoshop/Presets/Styles).

2. Open Photoshop and under the 'Window' menu select 'Styles'

3. In the new opened Window, load the Fire_Styles.asl by clicking on the little triangle in the 
   circle at the right side and select 'Load styles' from the Drop Down Menu.

4. Choose the layer you would like to add a style and click on that style you like to add to.

Usage Tips for the styles:

I have created the styles for 300 dpi, if you have another resolution (for example 72 dpi for web designs)
you maybe have to re-scale the styles for a better looking effect, so this is simple to do: 

Under the 'Layer' menu, select 'Layer Styles' and select 'Scale Effects ...' from the pop out menu.
Click on the arrow button to show the Scale slider. You can change the size of the style visually using the slider or by entering a specific number. The numbers below can be used as a starting point.

100% (no scaling) for print size images at 300 dpi
150% for Medium sized images
275% for Large sized images

All styles are seamless, making them perfect for web design or character creation. 

All styles were created in high quality and at 300 dpi (best print quality), if your layers have for example a resolution
of 72 dpi, you have to re-scale the style for a perfect result. For 72 dpi the result is great with a scale effect at arround 418%
