====================================================================== ************************************************************ *Product Name: Tasteful Tshirt for V4 *Copyright 01/3 2011 *By: Gustaf and Kimberly Grefberg *Contact: Renderosity sitemail ************************************************************ Tasteful Tshirt is a Tshirt made for Poser's clothroom. It is highly detailed, with displacement maps and multiple dynamic groups to give a realistic drapes. Several draping morphs are included, so the type of drape and fit can be customized to be just right for your character. The shirt comes in three different resolutions. Normal, triangulated and high resolution (Fast computer recommended for high res version) Several material types are included: Cotton Satin Speckled Stripes Tie-Dye -------------------------------------- System Requirements: Poser 6 or higher Victoria 4 by Daz3d -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: Unzip the files into your poser directory. The clothing items can be found under props and then Whimsysmiles. The materials can be found under materials and then Whimsysmiles. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: ************************** * Cloth Room quick start * ************************** This quick start breaks down the process into simple steps how to use the shirt in the cloth room. It is not a full poser cloth room tutorial. If you are a beginner it should be enough to get you started, and if you are a more advanced user it should help you find the right settings and some good tips. 1. Load Victoria 4. 2. On frame 1, keep her in zero pose, without any morphs loaded. Make sure to turn Inverse Kinematics off, found in the Figure menu. if she is not in the zero pose, go to Joint editor and choose "Zero rotations". If you have loaded Victoria fresh, you don't need to do this step. 3. Somewhere between frame 15-20 (Or more if you feel its needed), put Vicky in the final pose that you want. Here you can also load or apply any custom V4 morphs that you want, that alters her body one way or the other. (Including other Daz characters like Aiko 4, The Girl 4, or Stephanie 4.) The cloth simulation needs to start with the starting pose in the first frame, so that the shirt can drape or stretch into the final frame. 4.(IMPORTANT!) Before you load any of the clothing props, make sure you have Vicky selected. Then load the shirt. Now, the shirt is parented to Victoria, so if you scale Victoria, the shirt is scaled as well. This can be very useful. The shirt can stretch, if you scale victoria down in size in the starting pose, and keep her scale normal in the final pose. If you have loaded a pose and morphs in the final frame, there is already a keyframe here, so all you have to do is to scale victoria down a bit in the starting pose. Make sure you have victoria's BODY selected when doing this. 5. Go to "New Simulation" and set the desired amount of frames. Usually this is the same number as your final pose frame. 7. Then select "Collide against", and as collision object choose Victoria 4. You can choose her whole body, or to speed up the simulation a bit, check the ignore head, feet and hand collection boxes. A good collision offset value is somewhere between 0.250-0.350. Collision distance is usually good around the same values. 8. In the DYNAMICS CONTROLS, you can experiment with fold resistance for the default group (and of course other values), to give the fabric some more creases, or decrease it to make the material a little bit rougher. Values between 0.5 to 2.0 are pretty good, depending on the results you are after. When you have everything set up the way you like click "Calculate Simulation" For tweaking the cloth simulation, look into the sections below for some tips. *********************************** * Using parented scale * *********************************** The shirt come parented to Victoria 4. This means that if you move or scale her, the shirt will follow. Now, if you scale her in the starting pose, it will affect the cloth simulation. (Just make sure that she is scaled to normal/100% in your final pose/frame) For example, if you want the shirt to stretch or fit tighter in the final pose, just scale vicky down. When you do this scaling, make sure to have Victoria's BODY selected. This is very useful if you want the shirt to fit tightly to your character, very useful if you have a character which is a lot more thin than the default shape. ***************** * The Morphs * ***************** If you want a different result for your simulation, here are some morphs below: Bust This gives the tshirt more fabric for the bust. Useful for the more endowed woman, if you don't want a too stretchy result. Waist This makes the waist tighter. Longer Longer shirt. Shorter Shorter shirt. Please note that extreme values may stretch the texture. 1. Before you apply any morphs, make sure to reset the simulation 2. Run the simulation. 3. If you wish to adjust the object further, reset, adjust the morphs, and run the simulation again. 5. Sometimes the morph is doubled upon the end of the simulation, it happens more commonly in earlier versions of Poser. If you are using a fully patched Poser 7 or up this shouldn't happen often. If it does however, just select the affected morphs and reset them on frame 1 (Click on the little arrow on the right and choose reset) The end result will now look as it should, the doubled morph removed. Make sure that only the starting/zero frame has morphs on the garment! If there are keyframes in any of the other poses, delete them. You can do this by opening the graph by each morph and removing any keyframes that shouldn't be there. ***************** * Resolutions * ***************** The shirt comes in three resolutions: Normal This works for most cases Triangulated In some cases, triangles drape better than quads, so this one is made available. High res Very detailed mesh, over 40.000 polygons. Recommended for faster computers, and for still images. ***************** * Material Room * ***************** Applying materials is easy. Go into the material room, into the Whimsysmiles folder and into the Capris folder. Just click on a material and it's applied all the zones. ***************** * Render tips * ***************** Make sure to render with displacement maps on in the render options. If you think that the displacement map is too strong or too weak, you can also adjust their strength in the material room (advanced tab) Just make sure to adjust it in all the zones. ************************ * General Stuff * ************************ If you wish to make your own textures, you will find an UV map called "Tshirt_UV.jpg" where the rest of the textures are stored. For usage righs, refer to the Renderosity_License.txt file Enjoy!
