The renders will still work fine without it, but the models with displacement maps won't show the same amount of surface detail. Optimised Daz settings: Because Poser and Daz have slightly different ways of remembering surface settings, this set comes with specially optimised Daz materials. You will need to manually apply them, but this only takes a single click for each item. 1. Select your prop (ie: Chemists Cobolt) 2. Navigate to the Poses - Bad Medicine DAZ Materials file 3. Click the appropriate icon (ie: Chemists Cobolt) You can select multiple items in your scene tree (hold down the 'ctrl' button and select all the ones you need) then apply the appropriate setting with one click - so you can load up a dozen Chemists Cobolt bottles and update them to the Daz settings all at once. You won't see much of a change (if any) in the viewport - You will need to render to see the difference! IT WILL MAKE A MAJOR DIFFERENCE ON ANYTHING WITH GLASS OR THAT HAS A BUMP MAP! (Syringe, Chemists Cobolt, Round Bottle, Powder, bits of the box will be more subtle) and not a lot of difference, except to get rid of the 'GLOSSY!!' look on metal and ceramic items like the pill tile, mortar and pestle. Displacement and Bump both change the way they look according to how close the camera is to a prop. The closer you are, the 'bumpier' it looks. If you are rendering very close up, you may need to alter the displacement settings to suit your render. This can be done in the 'Materials' tab in Poser and the 'Surfaces' tab in Daz. It's something that's definately worth playing around with to get the best effect. LIMITATIONS: The product has been tested in Daz2, Daz3, DS3Advanced, Poser 6 and PoserPro 2010. It should operate on Poser 4 upwards without issues, but we haven't tested in all of them. Not tested on any Macs, sorry. I do however have a fascination for the Victorian era, and one of it's most famous cocaine abusers - Sherlock Holmes. Despite the substance being both legal and commonly used at the time, Watson would frequently bail him up about it. The substances named have been included as they were common components of Victorian 'cures'. Please DO NOT take the antidote advice on the labels as being useful either - whilst it is (fairly) historically accurate it is NOT good advice (things have come along a bit since 1890) and in the event of poisioning of any kind, call your nearest health service as quickly as possible.
