Douglas TBD Devastator for 3ds. Copyright (c) 2012 Alice Fedrizzi (AliceFromLake). KNOWLEGDE: The TBD Devastator was the first all metal monoplane torpedo bomber of the US Navy. It served from 1938 to the first few years of the Pacific War in the Coral Sea Battle and the Midway Battle. Included are three skins for an aircraft in 1938, one for an aircraft just before the war and one for the war as used in the battles of Midway and Coral Sea. All colors are for an aircraft of VT 1 stationed on USS Lexington. Included is the model in 3ds format, usable for all render packages able to import 3ds (nearly all actual render packages can do so, like Poser, Vue, Bryce, Cinema4D, Carrara, Max and so on). Many parts are movable or rotable like all canopies, the wings, the bombing doors, ruder, elevator and ailerons. The axis are set in that you can simply rotate them. USAGE: I had to split the model in more parts than usual because file size limitations of 3ds files. Please use the import option of your render package. All parts should be imported in a grouped state if your render package supports it so usage is easy. The model is in metric scales, so you may have to rescale it to fit in into imperial units if needed. Landing gear is included in two versions, opened and closed. Same with the underbelly part for torpedo or bombs. Please switch the desired version of them into visible or invisible state, respectively, as desired. Same with propellers and propeller blur and the hinge for folded wings. The parts are devided in materials and movable parts. UV mapping is available for most parts. For metal finish you have to try it out, because every render packages has it's own way to make metals. Please adjust the bump mapping settings as desired to get a fashionable appearance. The settings I have made are for Cinema4D and may not be usable for other rendering packages. Same for all other values in the material channels. Please make your own glass material and apply it to the glass parts or use the glass material included in your rendering package. The one I included is a placeholder.
